  1. Has anyone used this line? Braid, fluro, mono, fly line, catfish line.. any of it?. I can't seem to find a distributor in the US. I would love to try the 12 carat line or the platinum line of braid.. found something on Amazon UK. That's about it. Nothing concrete locally.. https://www.climax-fishingline.de/en/products/braided-lines/ Here is their main website.. if they make fishing line anything like their cars, It would be lights out!
  2. I'm having some trouble with the mono on my bps pro qualifyer. I have it spooled with 14lb spider wire ultracast and the line seems to come off not Smooth and cause more backlash. Thought maybe had too much line so I took some off and that helped a little bit, but I didn't have this problem when I was using the same line in 12lb maybe the 14lb is to thick maybe a different line in 14lb would be better? Thanks
  3. does anyone know if the invisi-braid from spider wire is any good?
  4. From the album: My Gear

This thing is great! Got it on sale, holds plenty of tackle for a bank fisherman like me.
  5. I'm confused about the true Braid to mono equivelant. I'm reffering to Power Pro Braid, on Cabelas website, Power Pro says that the ratios are:(braid:mono) 15:4 20:6 30:8 etc... However Shimanos website contradicts this. Shimano says that a 2500 size reel will hold 140 yards of 8 lb. mono but only 95 yards of 30 lb. Power Pro. If the ratios were correct than the reel should be able to hold the same amount of 8 lb. mono as 30 lb. braid...Any light on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
  6. So I was just wondering if 10lb monofilament line would be too heavy for a 2000 series spinning reel. The reel is a mitchell avocet 2000 series, last year I filled it completely with 8lb big game mono line and it casted like a dream no problems at all, I was wondering if 10lb line would cause any issues (casting distance aside).
  7. From the album: Largemouth Bass

2 or more pound largemouth bass left my scale at home i think around 2 1/2 FISHING IS MY LIFE.
  8. I am still new to bass fishing, but I am really comfortable with spiderwire EZ mono. However, this year, I have not been able to find it anywhere in a green tint. I also picked up some Ultimate-Mono from them and see that it is only available in clear. (The EZ I picked up was clear/blue) 99.9% of my fishing is done at Normandy Dam, Tims Ford, and Bedford Lake in Tennessee. The water is fairly clear, but with a green tint that seems to get greener as the days get longer. I have ready that clear, can actaully refract light and be more visible than tinted lines. I am assuming that the same would be true for the blue/clear lines. I usually fish with 6lb on my spinning reals , and 12lb on my baitcaster. My quandery is this: Is Spiderwire about to go under, or get out of the mono market? I really liked EZ, the box states that it is a co-polymer. What would be similar. Thanks,
  9. I have just bought a baitcaster reel and it is my first one. I decided i want to upgrade to some higher test line and some braid. I was wondering if the braid effects the way my senkos or other soft plastics fall in the water. Also, i bought 20 lb. test and i didnt know if i should go higher or not.
  10. Ive used braided superlines a few times, i see many benefits and many problems with them. One major problem ive had with the braided line is the line under alot of tension tends to dig into itself on the spool caused by the small diameter of the string. So ive always gone back to mono and flourocarbon. I would like to use the braided line if there was a reel that was made specificly for laying the line on the spool in a way that would allow lots of tension on the line without it digging in. Now i remember as a kid watching fishing shows and seeing spiderwire commercials come on. I think i remember them advertising a baitcasting reel that had a crossweb feature that the line would be layed in a way to prevent the digging in(maybe im wrong and it was only a spinning reel). I dont think they ever explained it but i assumed it would have to be a reel with a superfast level winder to put the line on crossing eachself on the spool(i could be wrong). Ive spent alot of time tryin to research this on the internet and havent found much of anything. No info on these reels or single picture of them. Ive looked at the spiderweb website and they dont make reels or have any info about them. Im assumeing these reels didnt do too well on the market and pretty much vanished. I did read an article that said the crossweb feature was patented. But why would the company patented it and not produce reels with the feature. Does anyone remember these reels or have any info about them. And are there any reels out there that lay the line on the spool in a way to prevent the line from digging in?
