I bought two 1000 size Shimano Sienna spinning reels seven years ago. I originally bought them for a trout trip to the MO Ozarks. After extensive use, they still work perfectly. I've caught many stocked trout, crappie, bream, and bass with these reels. For a dedicated bass reel, I'd choose the 2500 size Sienna. If there's any drawback to these reels, I'd say the thinner bail wire is one. Otherwise, they've been very reliable with basic maintenance. If your on a tight budget for fishing gear, the Sienna may be a good option for you. Just an opinion, but I think they're one of the best spin reels for the dollar. At 29.95 each, it's hard to go wrong.
