  1. hey guys, im kinda stuck right now. So i just bought a brand new shimano ci4+ 3000, and i need a nice drop shot rod to compliment it, im stuck between the dobyns sierra, dobyns savvy, shimano crucial, or if i find one in time a fenwick elite tech smallmouth. i preferably want a ml action with a extra fast tip for drop shots and shakeyheads and would like it to be really sensitive. i own a dobyns fury and very much like it but i have never used a savvy or sierra. any advice or other rod suggetions under 200$ would be great, thanks!
  2. hey guys i was just wondering what rod would be better as a drop shot/shakeyhead? ive narrowed it down to a dobyns savvy or sierra! any advice or expierence with them would be greatly appreciated!
  3. I'm wanting a rod that will handle most of my lighter baits. I just purchased a Duckett Ghost 6'10" medium action a week ago and it snapped on a 1 pounder yesterday. I returned it and I'm going to move to a higher end Dobyns rod. I'm looking at a Dobyns Savvy Micro Guide 663c to replace it. I realize this rod is shorter by 4 inches, but I do most of my fishing from a bank or in a kayak. I'll mainly use it to throw spooks, poppers, light jigs, light Texas rigs, squarebills, flukes and senkos. All of these techniques are listed on Dobyns' website for this particular rod except for squarebills. It's possible that I'll get myself into a crankbait rod in the future, but seeing as squarebills are the main kind of crankbaits I throw, it would be nice if this rod would cover that as well. Will the action and power be similar to the medium/fast Ghost? Will this rod handle squarebills well? Give me your thoughts!
  4. Hey guys I'm looking to get either the Dobyns Fury or Savvy 734C (or both eventually) for Florida grass fishing swim jigs and skinny dippers. Which one do y'all think is better for the money?? I know the Fury is great for the price, but would the Savvy be worth the extra $70?
  5. I'm looking to get a new setup and I was originally looking at the dobyns savvy 766 and pairing that with the lews super duty reel. But I just came across the gloomis e6x series and wondered if it would be better than the dobyns. For me I want the lightest gear without losing too much power for this price range. So I wasn't sure if anyone on here had fished either of these rods. Now when it comes to a reel I also discovered the 13 *** and C reels from one of my friends. I love it, it is so lightweight and smooth and I'm going to get one for my jigging and plastics rod. But my main concern is the durability of the reel. I'm going to be using heavy braid (60lb) and I don't know if the 13 reels can handle it. I know the super duty can because that's what's it's made for but the super duty reels are on the heavier side at 8 oz. The reason I'm so sceptical is because I had braid destroy my drag on my Abu Garcia revo SX and I don't want the same to happen if I get the 13 reel. Would love any opinions and suggestions. Thanks
  6. Hey everyone, im sure all of yall saw my previous post about the st.croix rage rods. Well in that many people brought up the dobyns rods, particularly the savvy series since they are the same price point as the rage. I have heard tons and tons of great things about them, nothing bad yet. Now what i'm asking yall is, is this just a name brand hype?? or are the really that good?? and why are they that good?? once again just looking for some opinions.

Im going to be fishing bass, trout, and panfish. Thanks in advance guy's if i left any important information out of this post let me know! whats the difference in 3"? Thank's: SVB
