  1. i have had my daiwa tatula ct 100hs for less than a month now and after using it in heavy rain for 1 day. I also used it in salty conditions in a bay but washed it off straight after. Is there a chance that it rusted or something got in the gears? Ive checked the spool and side plate but im afraid to open the reel side plate for fear of losing pieces or not putting it back together correctly. Is it easy to take apart the plates and reassemble?
  2. So the ponds in my community are higher than usual since it rained in south florida for almost two days straight, does this mean fish are closer to shore since there’s more water? And is it a better time to fish? since all the nutrients and bugs that got flushed in when it rained? Also can someone explain to me when i know it’s a good time to fish like the pressure and etc of the moon
  3. Hi all. I have started fishing for LMB this summer, and have had good success fishing a nearby pond in NYC, despite the fishing pressure. But recently in the last week, there have been many rainstorms, and the water has become very muddy. This is a manmade pond so there isn't really separation of clear and muddy water. I mainly caught bass previously on stickbaits and lizards (SLOW presentations) and had little success on fast baits. Now, given the cooler temps, I have tried more crankbaits and spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, but haven't even gotten a bite. My logic is that the fish need louder/more visual presentations given the dirty water, but I can't seem to hookup anything. Any advice is appreciated!
  4. Hi Everyone, I’m up north in Michigan and a few weeeks away from some cooler weather potentially. Ideally I want to be able to fish into the snow and know I need to look at some good suits for this. Wondering what everyone uses up here in the northern US states to continue their fishing season as long as they can. Thanks in advance.
  5. What are your favorite lures for stormy summer days? Its gonna rain and storm all week long. Most days we go fishing at evening/ night (8-10 pm) so consider that a little too. Thanks in advance!
  6. Do you guys fish in the rain? If so what do you wear and what do you throw? Any precautions you need to take with your equipment?
  7. Haven't posted in here since the fall, it's been a long while! Excited to get back into the swing of things as it gets warmer but I have a question about current conditions. For the past few days, it's been much warmer out in central PA as temperatures have been in the upper-40's to mid-50's. Today, it was 58 but it rained a bunch. There has been ice along the shallows at the Susquehanna and with all the melting snow and rain recently, the river stage is up quite a bit. Given that temperatures have been rising and there has been ice around the shallows, how would you fish a river with stained/muddy water after a fresh rain? I'm hoping that it'll get some of the fish active even more and I can catch some biggins'. I know that topwater is out but what do y'all recommend? Any help would be phenomenal!
  8. Hi I am an angler that fishes Texas. In the recent month we have recieved record rain that flooded our lakes. The lakes have gone from unfishable because they were to shallow to now you can only launch boats in a few number of lakes due to saftey reasons. This great rain has made me wonder how does it affect the bass. I was wondering what they would be doing? Where would they go? How long would it take for them to go back to normal?
  9. ever had a day where it looked like it might rain but there was a chance it wouldnt and you were so eager to fish that you went out there and got dumped on ontop of not getting a bite? i'm sure we all have at one point or another so here's my question. WHAT HAVE YOU LANDED A BASS ON DURING RAINFALL OR A DRIZZLE? for me its nothing. lol
  10. I can't seem to find the right search words for the forums to find a thread on this, and I didn't see any articles in the Fall section either, maybe someone can point me in the right direction or help here. I live in Northern Colorado and mostly get to fish small ponds. i have no boat, so i am bank fishing. It has been raining for the past three days (more like drizzling). The rain is cool and has put the air temperatures in the 50's at night and 60's to low 70's during the day. Previous temperatures for the last couple weeks were in the mid 80-90's during the day and 70's at night (I think). Can I fish a certain pattern in the rain? Do I need to do something different? I know the cold rain has to have dropped the surface temperature considerably. Should I wait for the rain to stop? I see pros fish in the rain all the time, what are they doing to compensate? It is supposed to let up starting tomorrow afternoon supposedly. I will probably try to fish in the morning regardless, but an idea on what has changed for the fish for the weekend would be helpful. I was out there a couple days ago when it was pretty light, but had nothing going on and no clue where to look. I am more or less asking in general, not necessarily just in the current situation. What do ya'll do in the rain? Thanks in advance. Oh and it is really foggy at my house, though when I drive into town it clears up. That may have to do with the 3000 foot elevation drop going into town, but does fog change the game plan altogether as well?
  11. Alright, so me and a buddy were shore fishing a 900 acre reservoir. I'm the bass fisherman and he is the trout fisherman. We had some pretty severe rain for the past 2-3 days with thunder and lightning, the water was a little high and more murky for being a pretty clear lake. I could not them to bite on anything but a jig here and there. It was a very slow day but it seemed like they wouldn't bite anything but a bubblegum pink colored trout worm (wacky rigged with a size 8 hook) on the fall with no "action" in shallow water near the shore, so i got out-fished by a trout worm. Any thoughts as to why the bite was so odd? Thanks
  12. Hey!!! So with all this rain we have gotten, in south Florida, water height has risen, causing certain parts of the lake to flow. This in turn has caused the fishing to be a bit more difficult. To fight this I've been fishing shallow covered waters with no current. I'm just wondering what other people are doing. Thanks for the info!!!
  13. What do you think about fishing in the rain? What are the best lures and techniques for fishing in a heavy downpore?
  14. Its raining so im waiting for it to stop. Should i go after it rains? Do bass feed after it rains?
