Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum so forgive me if this isn't in the right spot. However, I have a Shimano bait caster that I was given a year ago. Because of how busy I was this last year, I used it once (5 casts). Then, the reel started making a strange clicking sound. It is almost like it starts and stops, hitting some sort of part that causes the resistance. I am not super familiar with the parts terminology. However, I have taken the reel apart several times and cleaned, degreased, relubed, etc. The problem really only occurs when I close the case of the reel covering the centrifugal braking system. To be more clear, I will leave the side open exposing the brakes. This allows the spool to spin freely and feel very smooth. When I close and lock the case, problem reoccurs. I'm kinda stumped and really don't want to pay the $35 or whatever if it is simply a small alignment fix. I can take pictures or whatever as needed to help explain. I would appreciate any help I can get!
