While I'm interested in hearing about your ideal setups, what I'm really looking for (something I can't seem to find) is some type of chart or list that details each rod with their actions, and the techniques that should be applied.
Ex:
Heavy Fast Rod works best for Frogging but can also be great for ______.
Heavy Moderate.....
...and so forth and so on.
Reason being, I have several new rods that I'd like to obviously use properly as well as assure myself that any future additions will be necessary--efficiency.
***Thanks for your input.
I got some new line (PowerPro) put on my Okuma Fina when I started fishing this summer and yesterday when I visited the tackle shop the guy told me it was 50lb test. I wasn't even aware they put that big a line on there so I asked the guy what he would recommend instead and he said 10lb should be sufficient. I had him put some PowerPro 10lb on the reel and it was definitely a big difference compared to the 50lb. I have to say I'm a big fan of the braided line. I only ever used monofilament my whole fishing life. The braided line is great that it doesn't twist or get all tangled.
My question then is this. I have the Okuma on a Field & Stream Tech-Spec rod (6' 6") medium fast action. Is the 10lb a good choice for bass fishing? I'm just wondering now if I shouldn't had the guy put something heavier on there.
Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody knew what topwater hard baits and buzzbaits Ish Monroe uses? Thanks!
Also, does anybody know any other professionals who fish frogs a lot? I've only ever seen Ish.
Hey guys, So I'm going to get right into it and make this short. I want a crankin' stick that can handle squarebill's, 6-10' medium divers, and traps. The two rods I have narrowed it down to is the Duckett Micro Magic Pro Crankbait rod 7' Medium power, moderate taper, and the Dobyns Fury 7' Med-Heavy Mod-fast action Taper. Which one would you chose. Any input is appreciated thanks!
i picked up a spool of the 65 pound high vis green pro cat braided line because it was cheap. looking at the stuff and feeling it, it feels like a total rip off. any other opinions?
Hey guys, I need to pick up some new lures and stuff for the new year coming up and wanted to know, when does bps have their biggest sale. what about Cabela's. Thanks!
So I just stripped down some Pq's and cleaned/lubed them according to TackleJunky81's vid on youtube. now one of them seems to be clackin when I reel it. I will spin the reel and it is almost like the spool is moving back and forth or the pinion is loose or something. Any ideas?
does anyone have a say about the johnny morris reels? ive heard pretty good things about them and im considering getting one, but i want to know alot about it first
