  1. I have a 10 ft Porta-Bote with a 45 MotorGuide trolling motor that I mount on the transom alongside a Humminbird Fishin Buddy. I plan to upgrade from the Fishin Buddy to a new side imaging/GPS fishfinder unit with the transducer mounted on the trolling motor and I am trying to decide where to mount the fishfinder unit. I am thinking of using a snap type base mount on one end of the middle seat as the seat needs to be removed anyway to fold up the bote for transport. Is there anyone that utilizes a similar setup on their Porta-Bote that could provide any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi all, I sure have a lot of questions and so far you guys have been great with replies. Has anybody else seen or have firsthand used the Porta-Bote for fishing?I have one and use it to access areas for scuba diving in some of the manmade reservoirs. I know it's pretty stable for that purpose, but there are several accessories for turning it into a 14ft fishing boat. Anybody try thta and if so could you share experiences. Thanks in advance!! Billy
  3. Looking at a 1999 12' porta bote tomorrow, Anyone who has one know the kinda things i should look for to make sure it's sea worthy? I think the 1999 model had a wooden transom and wooden seats.... comes with a trailer (that i don't think i want/need) and the boat..... 500 seems reasonable what y'all think?
