  1. I'm new to bass resource! The most recent post about bass fishing in the area of south Atlanta was in 2012 when I searched. I was curious if there were any members that have any news on local ponds, lakes and even rivers. I live in the Fayetteville and Fairburn area and do a good bit of fishing. Been fishing all my life but have just taken up bass fishing this past year and am enjoying it! Thank you all for all your post and a huge shoutout to Glenn because his videos have helped me out the most in my transition to bass fishing. If anyone wants to fish ponds or lakes in and around south Atlanta, definitely let me know I would love to trade stories and locations with members, I've fished from Lake Peachtree, Kedron, Horton, McIntosh in Fayette County to Sweetwater creek, Glen Emerald and Piedmont park in Atlanta to some hidden lakes in South Fulton and Clayton. Anyone know of a couple of ponds in Fayette County? I bank fish 2-3 days a week and fish on a boat maybe 3 times a month
  2. As always it's getting harder to find the fish in MA, and without a boat (can't even use my kayak right now sadly) my options are kind of limited to small ponds. Most of which are loaded with grass even this time of year. What baits do you guys throw when fishing ponds with temps this cold? Obviously most people on YT will tell you to fish a jig or a dropshot this time of year, but around here with so much grass still around it's a pain. Are blade baits a good option? Finesse swimbaits? Ned rigs? I always end up at a loss once late November rolls round.
  3. Hey, anyone in the Buffalo, NY and or WNY area start hitting the water? If so, hows the bite going? Getting eager to get out.
  4. Hey All, I am looking for new lakes or ponds to fish at. I live in the bay area, specifically Union City, and willing to drive 1hr to 1hr30. I have been to quarry lakes, chabot, Shinn ponds, don castro, and other small ponds in SJ. Also any advice on any places you can recommend would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Hello all! I am new to the forum and have many questions. We recently moved to Apex, NC, which is outside of Raleigh. I am getting into bass fishing again and would like to know if anyone here has any recommendations of places to fish. I do not currently have a boat so I will be restricted to the bank. Thanks!
  6. Hello. I am a pretty new bass fisherman and mostly fish small ponds. I know enough about lake fishing to know which lures to use when, but I am at a loss for pond fishing. Can you give me recommendations for baits to throw in ponds?
  7. I'm here to ask about fellow fishermans opinions on putting weed killer in ponds/lakes. They say these chemicals do not kill the fish but I completely disagree with that. Ever since they started putting those blue chemicals in my local ponds the fishing got worse and worse over the years. 5 years ago the fishing was amazing in my area you can go out there and catch 5 bass in 10 minutes easily. Now I'm lucky if I can catch 1 dink in an hour! They recently put the chemicals in a pond I live near and the water is pure blue and all of the weeds are completely gone. I threw around for about 30 minutes and not only did I not get one bite, I also didn't see a single sign of life. No bait fish nothing. This was also a pond I used to be able to go to and catch hundreds of bass. I assume y'all agree with me but I've never heard anyone talk about this topic and want to know y'alls opinions.
  8. Anyone from the Redding area like to fish the ponds around here? Any good ponds that are open to the public? Or anyone have access to some private ponds? Just looking to fish some ponds in the evenings before work.
  9. I am buying a house off Hackney road in North Chesterfield that has a pond in the back yard. The pond is big and shared by neighbors. Does anyone know who I would contact to get information of the dos and donts and if fishing is allowed? Would like to get a little boat to use on it but have no idea yet what the rules are. Waiting on the survey to be completed. No HOA but I am assuming it is county owned. Thanks for the help.
  10. Hey guys, live about 5 miles from Logan Martin, and I enjoy fishing that body of water but as a Kayak fisherman I am also on the lookout for small bodies of water to fish. Any recommendations on some small bodies of water an hour or so away would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind doing a bit of trekking and portaging to get to a spot especially if it is a spot that is vacant of power boats and PWC's....not that I have an issue with that at all, just when my yak has a 1hp motor (me) calm water is fast water Also any tips on getting permission to fish small ponds I may find on google maps etc... I want to always be the guy that does the right thing and not assume its ok and trespass on someones private lake. Cheers!
  11. Hey so I’m fishing a pond near a college campus. The air temps have been hovering around 45° for about a week now and when it’s not too windy I’m able to get out for an hour or two. Unfortunately this pond is fished by any and all anglers on campus because it is the only pond nearby. That means the fish have probably seen anything and everything imaginable. I’ve been to it 3 times and got skunked each time. Do you guys have any tactics that you use for VERY heavily fished ponds? PS. The pond is basically a big shallow circle with its deepest point in the center. It’s small too. Small enough to walk around the pond in under 10 minutes.
  12. So I’m up in Northeast Ohio while I’m home for spring break and I’m having trouble fishing some of the local ponds. Everything is just starting to thaw and the pond I fish is just about half thawed/half ice. I have to fish from the bank and I usually throw a red eye shad lipless crankbait as a search bait but it seems that even my search bait is inefficient. I was out for 2 hours today in the cold and windy snow and not even so much as a bite. I switched to using a ned rig thinking they might prefer a slower presentation but no luck. I also threw a green pumpkin chatter bait for a while and no luck. I was essentially casting to the ice then reeling in and letting my lure drop from the edge of the ice to the bottom where I expect them to be. Planning on going out later this week, can anyone offer any tactics or better lure suggestions so I can catch my first winter bass? If any of you are familiar, I’m fishing the Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve. It’s got pretty clear water and the shore is shallow for about 5 feet and then has a steep drop off, deep enough that I can’t see the bottom.
  13. I have had a really awful 2 week trying to get anything to bite. I'm in northern Missouri, and I've been throwing the house at them... Senkos (real and knock off), creature baits, spinners, very few crank baits, jigs(i have no idea why I've never got anything on one before), paddle tails, flukes, frogs, rats, t rig, nc rig, a knock off umbrella rig, shakey heads, bullet heads, mepps, tubes...... I'm starting to think its the operator not the bait. Any input you my have would be great. Using a spinning set up on an ugly stick 6'6" and a Promax caster on a cabala's heavy fast action. with either 10 or 14 pound mono.
  14. Hello all! I'm new here, but have been fishing all of my life. I know the basics of fishing, but never really got into Bass fishing until recently. My husband and I watch YouTube videos, read articles, and talk to friends trying to gain every bit of knowledge we can. We have three young boys who we take fishing and we fish religiously. The problem is that we don't catch much. We catch 2-3 lb. Bass regularly, but nothing much bigger than that. I'm in the military and we have access to the base which has 11 ponds and 6 lakes... we've tried almost all of them. We watch 4-5 lb. Bass swim right at the docks and they will not hit anything we throw in. We only bank fish just because we do not have a boat (it will happen in due time). We use green pumpkin senkos, chatter baits, and jigs mostly. I know this is a LONG read, but we are looking for any advice we can get. My Dad took me fishing growing up and those were the best memories... I want to pass these skills along to our boys. Thank you in advance for any help you may have. God Bless.
  15. This might be kind of random but this is what my area looks like I don't think I'm gonna run out of retention ponds to fish any time soon
  16. There's a pond on private property that my Uncle fished for over thirty years. He took me there a lot. It's a small secluded place, but special to me. And there are huge fish in there! My Uncle had a stroke a few years ago. Prior to that, he'd told me that he met some new owners and they gave him the ok to keep fishing the pond. He never brought people there, my brother and I, and a few others. Honestly, my Dad asked me about it a while back, and I decided not to tell him where it was--plus I thought it was kind of funny not to tell him. Anyway, I'm going to be in town visiting family soon and I'd love to go check out the pond and make a few casts. I haven't been in a decade. Do you think this is ok? If anyone approached me or said anything I'd of course be very respectful and explain who I was. I'd love to hear what others think about this. I know people have strong feelings about this kind of thing. Thanks!
  17. I live in the South Carolina midlands and need help for fishing ponds during the colder months. I've been trying fineese jigs and shaky heads but it hasn't been working.
  18. Hey all, Read some previous post about some spots around Albany but most seemed to be lakes or large ponds that you would need a kayak or small boat. If anyone is familiar with any small ponds around the area that hold good bass or anything that would be great. Looking to do some bank fishing and pond hopping once the season gets started. I am not trying to steal anyone's secret spots but any information would help! Thanks, and tight lines! - Jake
  19. Hey fellas! I live in Middle Georgia and I was wondering if anyone had any connections for farm ponds or private ponds whitin a couple hours away that I could fish!?

  23. I'm looking for some new spots to fish for largemouth. I fish for peacock every weekend but I'd like some spots like ponds for largemouth near the southeast area of Miami. And please don't say there are spots everywhere because if that were true for where i live i wouldn't asking this question. Thanks in advance
