  1. Hey guys, I am new to these forums, so I apologize if I did not post this correctly the first time. Hey guys, I am new to the forum here, but have used it for ideas and different mods on my Pelican Bass Raider 10E, so thank you for all of that. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the 8AWG wiring that is pre-wired in the boat. I have mine set up so that I can run my 55lb thrust MinnKota Traxxis in the back of the boat, and keep the battery up front. I am a big boy (275lbs on a good day), so as I stand towards the back/center, I can keep the extra weight of the 12V battery up front to keep things balanced. I recently purchased the TM plug to utilize the wiring inside. my second time out, the 40amp inline fuse melted, but didn't pop the fuse. After reading up on this, it seemed that this might have been because of a poor connection inside the fuse. To replace it I purchased and am waiting on a 40amp inline flat fuse holder which I am going to install upfront, closer to the battery. My concern however is that the 55lb TM may push too much amperage for the length of the 8AWG wire and the 40amp flat fuse i just purchased. Has anyone had any issues after switching to a new flat fuse with the fuse constantly popping, or still with the fuse holder melting. Any help would be appreciated from the #plasticboatnation!!! Thanks, Dennis
  2. Does anyone have any info as to when the Power 100 will be released? Thanks
  3. Hello all, I'm looking to get my first kayak. Up until now I've fished out of a 16' aluminum boat with a 40hp motor and casting decks all around. This is a big change! So, about myself, I'm 6' and 180lbs, I like to fish everything from small rivers to medium size lakes here in Canada. The kayak I'm looking for would be most used on small rivers, ponds and small lakes. My budget would be about $750 ($1000 CAD). Comfort and the ability to stand and fish are highest on my list of priorities. Next would be weight, followed by speed and tracking. Right now it seems like the kayak that best fits these is the Pelican Catch 100/120. Anyone have any experience with these, or recommendations for a different kayak? I will likely need to buy new, as there are basically no used kayaks for sale in this area. Thanks!
  4. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/pelican-mustang-100x-kayak-18pelumstng100xkypsk/18pelumstng100xkypsk? I am looking to get a cheap ($350 or less) dollar fishing kayak to leave at a friend's house who lives a couple hundred yards away from a lake in town. I need something that would be easy to carry and big enough for an average height guy. Does anyone have experience with the Pelican Mustang (link above)?
  5. I'm sure this type of thing has been beaten to death in this forum before, but my circumstances are unusual, so I thought I'd put this out to the community for comment. I live on a 350 acre lake in Massachusetts. I have a private beach behind the house. I'm planning on getting a two-person boat that I can just drag up on the beach when not in use. I don't have a truck or any way to trailer a boat, but I'm planning on getting a new car (likely a Subaru or some such) that I can put a light duty hitch on later this year. I've been combing Craigslist and the Boat Trader and I'm not finding what I want - and I have no way to get anything I purchase to the house anyway. So I've got it narrowed down to two of the plastic boats that can be shipped to me. I'm considering either the Pelican Bass Raider 10E or the Sun Dolphin Pro 10.2 powered by an electric trolling motor. Since they'd be left outside during the summer, I'll get a cover for either. They will be stored under my back deck in the winter. Later in the year, I'll likely get a Harbor Freight trailer to move the boat when I want to. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks! Glen
  6. From the album: Pelican Raider 10e

I keep adding to this Pelican Bass Raider. Today I just got the 2.3hp Evinrude running, so I'll be making more changes for river trips, but just use the electric for lakes and ponds.
