  1. So I have a 7'1" *** that i originally used for plastics and jigs. Which i love the sensitivity. I was debating on switching the rod to a spinnerbait rod, but i have been thinking. The *** has a very fast taper, it's pretty stiff. I do like that for plastics, but I don't know about spinnerbaits. So I was debating on buying a 7 ft Veritas or 7 ft Halo Daylite. Sensitivity is not that big of a factor, but i would like it to be pretty good. Also i see the Veritas rods have evolve guides on them now (***'s "company".) Also if that doesn't work out, are the Omens more sensitive than the Veritas? I could always use more plastics rods! If there are any other rods that you would recommend for spinnerbaits by other companies, let me know! Also I have a hard time, but would like to just stick with a couple of rod companies. I love to try everything, but I'm like ocd with certain things. So having tons of different rod brands and reels, kind of annoys me "haha"! I was thinking of sticking with 3 (for different applications) Powell Infernos, 13 Omens, and Abu Veritas (possibly). Duckett Ghost rods come out soon too! Oh no! Sorry if this was kind of rambling, but I'll appreciate the help!
  2. Alright so I have an *** in 7'1" mh casting.. I love it, sensitive and very powerful. I use it for plastics and jigs. I was wondering if the Jadewood is more sensitive than the 13, or stronger, etc etc. So please give me your opinions. I'm looking around for rods that i can stick with the line up. So if the Jadewood doesnt stack up I will continue to purchase Omens. Thank you
  3. I'm looking to purchase a new setup for around $300, and I'm hoping I can get some feedback on if I'm making a good decision! I recently started fishing again, and rIght now I have an Abu Garcia Cardinal spinning rod combo M/L 6', that I mainly use for (rainbow/brown) Trout fishing in rivers. I am looking to get a pole that would be good for kayak fishing and boat fishing. I live in SE MN, so mainly fishing for Bass/Pike/Walleye in central MN, and occasionally northern MN. I don't plan on using it for saltwater fishing at all. I really like my spinning rod, and would like another one, but I wonder if I shouldn't get a baitcaster instead? Which one would allow me to do more? I have 0 experience with baitcasters, but am willing to learn. I am looking at getting a St. Crox Avid 6'6" Medium rod. For almost 2x the cost of an *** or St. Croix Premiere, is it worth it? I'm looking at less than 7' for kayak fishing, and would like it to fit in my Outback. I am the most lost at what reel to get. I see a lot of people suggesting Shimano, so I was looking to pair the Avid with a Shimano Symetre. Otherwise, I could go with a Stradic/Premiere. What size would be best, 2500 or 3000? Or I could get a Chronarch/Premiere - Ugh, so many choices. I will probably use braided line with a fluoro leader if that helps. Thanks for any suggestions, I really appreciate it!
