    (1) Greetings BR members! I've been looking to get after some smallies this summer on the Upper Potomac. I've had success at Riverbend Park and Goose Creek in years past, but I'm looking for spots that I can reach easier by bike from Arlington. The Ohio C&O Canal Towpath would be my route of choice to get upriver, so spots on the Maryland side are preferred (not asking for your honey holes, just general locations ideal for shore/wade fishing). I'm sort of a newbie to bass casting for SM in a river, so I may need some technical guidance and info on specific areas / structure to target. Beyond weedless tubes, it would also be helpful to get some insight as to what bait/profile/size is best for this river. (2) If anyone would like to fish with me, I've been looking for a fishing buddy! Unfortunately, I don't have a boat or consistent access to a car, but I can ride my bike a good long way to reach the fishing grounds. I can also comp for gas or other expenses. PM if interested.     Hey i'm at Fort Lee for a couple more months and was wondering if there are some good ponds that I need to check out? Preferablly within an hour drive. I did my homework and dug up some old forum and found some info. I checked out quite a few spots on this list and had just a little luck. Of the ponds I went to they all had a lot of fishing pressure. The best fishing I had up here is private ponds but I don't want to constantly bother them so I can fish. Fishing the dutch gap is a hit or a miss, but I did catch a 5lber our of there. I don't have a boat or a kayak right now so I/m stuck bank fishing. I'm pretty discouraged with lake fishing. I can't seem to catch much from the shore and I even rented a boat at lake chickahominy and went out for 6 hours and I threw everything I had from chatterbait, creature bait, spinner bait, poppers, whopper poppers, wacky rig, lizzards. I shore fished at Lake Lee and didn't catch anything, and I talked to a couple boaters and they said it was a slow day. Tommorow I'm going to go check out Amelia lake and shore fish. If y'all know any good ponds around here please let me know.

    I'm looking for a fishing buddy. I'm 25 yrs. old and moved up here to Northern Virginia 2 years ago. I have yet to meet anyone that fishes as much or as devoted to the sport as I am. I own a kayak so my choices are a little limited sometimes. Anyone that loves fishing and wants to go sometime, hit me up!

    Good evening everyone! My name is Tim and I am new to this forum. I go by White Brow Fishing, the name of my FB, IG and YouTube pages. I got back into fishing in the spring of this year after being away from it for quite awhile. After my first trip back out, I don't know why I stayed away so long. I live in northern Virginia and fish a lot of the ponds and creeks in the area. LMB and smallies are my favorites to fish for with catfish and trout being 3rd and 4th. Any day I'm not working, I can be found getting a line wet somewhere in the area. I look forward to talking about bass fishing and all that comes with it. Tight lines! Tim B.

    New to fishing in nova and would love some recommendations on spots or lures. No boat right now so spots with bank fishing would be nice. Been skunked the last couple times out and just wanna get on some fish! Not even worried about size right now.. Live in the prince William area but don't mind a drive, thanks!

    I was wondering if anyone has been having any luck throwing swimbaits. I caught about a 3lb bass with a 4 inch but was thinking about upgrading the size of the bait to get bigger fish. Has anyone tried this or am I gonna be the guinea pig? Any tips or suggestions?

    I have been fishing alot for about a month and a half now and probably spend 4-5 days and about 4-5 hours each of those days fishing local lakes and havent caught much, i mainly fish lake mercer but dont have much luck, my main lure of choice is the spinner bait, i am looking for tips and hints for nova fishing from the shore.

    Hello Everyone, I'm Brand New to this site and upon looking at it there seems to be very little consistant information for us VA boys. I fish primarily out of a Jon boat in electric motor only locations and am always looking for info on new places or ways to fish here in Virginia!

    .. just been catching a lot of dinks on my plastics, jigs, senko's, and spinner baits and even on my cranks.. i know fishing has been hard these past couple weeks during the rediculous heat we had. but has anyone had any luck at all catching some decent size? if u did what was it on?
