  1. I got a new trion 30 the other day and its spooled up but whenever i pull line from the drag it sounds like its fraying the line I was wondering if anyone knew what caused this as it is happening in one of my other reels 2
  2. So I have been looking for a new casting reel, and with so many options at so many different price points I need some help. looking for something for heavy cover and big bait applications but still has the power to crank in a pike or musky. Where I’m at it’s not uncommon to hook into a decent size pike or (depends on what fishery) musky. Price point between 200-250. Thank you for your help in advance!
  3. I am going to list my confidence baits and how I like to fish them. I want your opinion on what the best rod reel and line would be for each technique. Specific gear or just specs are fine. Don't have a budget, but nothing under $100 or over $425. Thanks! Ned Rig Free fall in open water, I never drag them. Was thinking a 7'6" ML mod fast with yellow braid and a leader. This is my biggest producer in the spring. Mostly a line watching technique so i might be able to get a cheaper rod. Drop Shot fished either in 25' visibility sand bottom or on milfoil beds. I am currently using 1/0 or size 1 drop shot hooks, and a 1/4 oz round tungsten weight. My rod and reel are my nicest in my arsenal, but my rod just broke and the reel is a 3000, might switch to a 2500. 7'1"MLXF and 25 size reel 10 lb braid, 6-8 lb leader UL Texas Rig Fished with a 1/8 oz lead bullet weight and a peg, a 1/0 hook, and a purple zoom finesse worm. Works great in ponds. mostly pitch to light cover. was thinking 6'6" ML fast and a 20 fish sized reel with 10 lb braid and 8 lb leader Wacky Rig/Skipping Tube I only fish this around docks for big bass. Not sure what to use, maybe a 6'4" MH spinning 3000 sized reel and 30 lb braid? Keitech Swimbait Probably my favorite to use, I use a 3/0 light wire unweighted swimbait hook, and a 1/8 oz hook. I only use 3.8" Keitechs. I don't usually peg. Mostly fished in open water over milfoil, or along weed and dock lines. Was thinking a 7'3" M or MH mod fast and smooth 3000 size reel 15 lb braid 10 lb leader Finesse Swim Jig I really like the KVD Tour Grade Swim Jig in 1/4 oz. I like to fish it around docks and threw light vegetation. Not sure what the best rod or reel is but id prefer casting. Finesse Spinnerbait I like 1/4 oz spinnerbaits with at least one willow, mostly double willow. I like how they swim and stay relatively shallow, while allowing me to cover water fast. I use a 6'6" MH Bucco and Tataula Ct 7.3 with 15 lb floro, great in tight quarters, but not open water. Frog/Swimbait The last bait that I am confident in is a frog or soft 5" keitech swimbait weighted through vegetation. i use a 7'3" MH F and 30 or 50 lb braid
  4. On Christmas I got a new Daiwa Tatula Type-R 100xs with an 8:1:1 gear ratio. I am looking for a new rod and line to accompany the reel. I would like to be able to use this setup in just about any situation with multiple things. Lastly, I am trying to keep price in mind.
