  5. Hi I am Mitch and is new to this site. I was in the Air Force and USCGAUX. I have been fish all my life but got hooked to bass. I went to the fishing show to get more tips on bass fishing and Kevin VanDam was there giving demostrations. After the demo we started looking at the exibits and the boats. We looked a Ranger and the salesman kind of blew us off. We then look at othe boats but they were not what I wanted. We then went over to looked at the Nitros and joked with the the salesman about someday we will get one. He dare me to fill out the paperwork and said we will have a boat tonight. I go "Yea Right". He came back and said we own a 2014 Nitro Z7. I "What your kidding"!!! Then I joked I will not buy it unless KVD autograph it. The Nitro factory rep heard that and went got KVD. Next we see a crowd show up with KVD. He climbs in our new boat and autographs it and we sat and talked for about half hour. We felt like a dream come true.
  6. Big hello from WNC. Me and my son Chad McCoy are getting back into bass fishing. He has just purchased a 1992 Norris Craft 21 XLVEE. With a 2001 Mercury XB 250 HP. I do not know how good we will do fishing but we will get there in a hurry. Some of the best times I have ever had is on the lake with Chad.
  7. Hi, I'm Dubya. I live in Northwestern Ontario and I've been fishing for sixty years, for trout, walleye, salmon, and smallmouth bass. I'd like to catch a largemouth someday, but we don't have them around here. These days I fish mostly up the Black Sturgeon Road, where there are a number of lakes as well as the Black Sturgeon River. My grandparents taught me to fish. They were meat fishermen, which meant they piled everyone into the boat that could hold a rod. I was four years old when I first got piled into the boat, and the first fish I caught was a smallmouth bass. I loved it. I still do.
  8. Hello, I'm Andy from Southern California. Just retired and started fishing a couple of months ago. I'm just learning the basics. I fish from the bank. I mostly catch Bluegill. However, I've also hooked two Bass. Andy

It started when my grandpa just put a pole in my hand and told me to catch something. Im only 17 so Im not as experienced as most of ya'll on here. Im hoping to learn more about the bass fishing part of things. Ive recently started using top water frogs so i still have a lot to learn about them. I havent caught anything on it yet but im hoping soon I will.
  11. Hello everybody, I am 15 and a big time bass fisherman. I lived in Florida for 13 years before moving to Washington state. All of my family is in Florida except my mom, step dad, brother and sister. I go to Florida and stay with my dad during my school breaks. When I go to Florida I bass fish almost everyday and saltwater fish on the weekends. I don't bass fish in Washington because where I'm at it is hard to catch largemouth without a boat. I hope to learn from and to show my pictures to everybody on the forum!
  12. Hi Everyone! I am new here, hoping to learn more about bass fishing. I started fishing with my Father and Grandfather as a boy and I've been fishing all my life but mostly with hooks and bobbers. About 10 years ago a friend introduced me to fishing for largemouth bass with spinnerbaits and I was instantly hooked. Five years ago I moved to a small lake in North Alabama and I enjoy fishing from my canoe. This lake is seemingly overfished for bass and I only catch a few small ones. Last year I discovered ultra light fishing for bluegill with small lures and have really enjoyed it. Since I live close to great fisheries on the Tennessee River at Guntersville and Wheeler I am wanting to leave my small lake and try these other spots, with, hopefully, better luck with the big bass. I have a small aluminum boat that I'm working on getting shipshape. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge with me! TNRvr
  13. I am pleased to be part of this great source of bass knowledge. I like to fish the river lakes off the Ouachita River. I know this is primarily for bass anglers but i split my time on the water 50 - 50 between large mouth and crappie. I just bought my first boat! She's an Xpress sv16 bass rig with a 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke. I've fished since I was just a young boy riding my bike to the banks of the Ouachita River and throwing out whatever looked cool off the shelves at Kmart or Walmart. Been married for almost 15 years and my father-in-law got me into the crappie or as we say in Louisiana Sac au lait. I like going to Northern Arkansas to fish the Buffalo National River for small mouth. I'm actually a much better small mouth angler even though I only fish them once a year.
  14. Hello, My name is Jake, I'm from outside of Allentown Pennsylvania. I take my boat to nearby Beltzville Lake and Mauch Chunk Lake, but I LOVE to fish for smallmouth bass at Lake Wallenpaupack which is quite a bit away from home. I am ninteen years old and still in college. I work on the weekend and fish after school whenever I can. My love for bass fishing has recently been amplified due to my recent purchase of a boat (2008 Bass Tracker 175 TXW with a 50HP Merc). I love it!!! I am excited to learn from and also add to the priceless database of fishing information on bassresource.com. Thanks, Jake
  15. Hello! I'm new to BR, I've seen it advertised by people on YouTube and I'd thought I'd give it a try! I mostly bass fish in the many ponds around my house and I'm 14 y/o. I'm willing to any insite that any of you guys have and am alway willing to learn more! Thanks
  16. I am a new member. I used to fish quite often, then life got in the way. I was active duty military for over 20 years. Retired from military almost 10 years ago. With job, family, and building a house, and then a divorce after over 20 years of marriage.... the fishing hobby went to the bottom of the priority list. Now, kids are grown. Discovered the love of a women who believes in only being with one man and the importance of shared activities as well as solo actvities. I am getting back into fishing. I have recently completely refurbished a 16' aluminum bass boat (Fisher Marine) that belonged to my grandfather. I have been out of it for so many years. I am trying to gain knowledge of equipment, lines, lures, and techniques used. I have forgotten so much. I used to fish Truman Lake in central MO. I am located about 90 minutes north of Table Rock Lake, and 60 minutes south of Pomme de Terre Lake. I loved flipping/pitching (pig and jigs) at Truman as well as topwater buzz baits in the early morning or later evening...lots of action. Now I have the time and some money.... I am wanting to get back into the fold.
  17. I was born in Welsh, La...lived in New Orleans for 5 years, St. Louis 16 years, and now Collierville, TN! Grew up fishing in the bayou, marsh, swamp, and gulf coast. Did a lot of fishing below New Orleans at Delecroix Island, Pontchatrain, and Lake Borgne. Enjoyed fishing smallmouth in Missouri streams and now I mostly fish for Largemouth, crappie, and stripers in TN. Lately, I've been fishing some of the ponds and lakes and really having fun. 21. Hi, my name is Michael, I live and work in Jinju South Korea. I've been here for several years, but just decided to start Bass Fishing again. I knew that there were Largemouths here, but most of what I'd seen were small fish and I didn't think it was worth the time trying to catch them. Boy was I wrong!!!! I've been fishing pretty steady since March and there are some really nice Bass on our local river; the Namgang. I fish mostly from a Float Tube or my Kayak either on the river proper or in the many backwater areas I've found. The Largest Bass I've caught is in the 7 to 8 lb range with Many in the 3 to 5 lb range. The respond well to Plastic worms and top water lures as well as medium running Crand baits, but I've caught most of my fish on Black or Pumpkinseed Pepper worms. I'm going to try some new areas up north at Andong Lake tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes. Michael
