  1. I just watched a video by Glenn on using the Split shot/ Mojo rig and he explained when learning to detect bites with soft plastics and when the bite gets tough this is a good rig to use. Stupid question, WHY??
  2. Does anyone have the 7'4" Heavy, Fast Action, St. Croix Mojo Bass? If so, does anyone pitch with it? Wondering if it's good with braid and sensitive enough for pitching?
  3. I am looking for spinning rod for my President reel. I am between the Dobyns Fury 703SF or the Mojo Bass. From what I read, they seem comparable, maybe the furys action is rated higher then it seems and the mojo's action is rated lower then it seems...that is what i got out of my research. I mainly texas rig senkos. I can get the fury for $105 to my door and the mojo bass for $110 to my door. Any more thoughts? thanks Im leaning dobyns cuz of their lifetime warranty....and i already have a 734c...so matching is nice, but a diversified portfolio is good too...
  4. Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if you guys could recommend any specific hooks for mojo rigging. I plan to use a light wire hook because I will be using light tackle. I just can not seem to find much light wire worm hooks. I will be using zoom finesse worms (4 3/4 inch). Thanks
  5. Does anybody here have experience with the 2016 model St. Croix Mojo Bass? I used to see mixed reviews on them, but from what I hear, the new model uses the same blank as the St. Croix Avid. Give me you thoughts!
  6. Okay so im not a new fisherman but I am new to bigger setups.. My setup right now is a 50$ ugly stick rod and a 40$ abu garcia reel.. Now I'm getting more into bigger stuff, putting more money away for bigger reels and i need help with a new setup.. I fish thick weeds, where if you texas rig the weeds will get caught on the weight. Im looking into a new setup.. I wanted to buy the *** reel *** with 20 pound fireline .. and the rod i want to pair is the st croix mojo bass rod.. IM not sure if this is a good setup like if they'll match up.. I don't know much a lot about every single rod and reel.. But where i fish about 10 minutes down the road is where the state record bass was caught in New York.. And i want a good setup to throw jigs through weeds and be able to do pretty much anything from frogging , to crank baits jigging and some senko setups.. Do you think this will work out well? with some of these i will put a flouro leader, thank you!! Please no hate
  7. Ok so I recently bought a huge lot of bass fishing equipment, and there were 2 crankin rods. One was a david fritts perfect crank (7' MH and it says fast taper) and the other is a st. croix mojo bass crankbait rod (7' MH Moderate). I only want to keep one rod for all around cranking (Squarebills, traps, and up to 6xd's). So my question is, Which should I keep and which should I sell?
  8. I am trying to compare both the Veritas and the Mojo for bass fishing. I own two Abu Garcia Veritas rods and I love them but my buddy advised me to take a look at the St Croix Mojo. Any experiences or opinions on them? By the way I would be using the rod with an Abu Garcia Revo reel of some sort. -BeenReel
  9. Looking to buy another casting rod. Im going to be putting an Abu Gacria reel on it (Most likely a Revo). I already own 2 veritas casting rods but was told the Mojo is something to check out. Any opinions on either rods? -BeenReel
  10. I'm in the market for a new addition to the lineup (aren't we all?). I own multiple 7' mediums, and this is my go-to choice for just about anything.. I'm looking to add a 7'4" or 7'6" medium or medium-light.. Any advice on which rod? I own a 7' smoke already and its a perfect all-around rod. Also own a Mojo, and feel the 7' medium is an absolute brute. Strongest backbone I've fished with a medium power. I've narrowed my choices down to the smoke, vendetta, escalade, mojo, and the fenwick elite tech smallmouth rod.. Will be used primarily for large and smallmouth, steelhead, cats, and walleye. Anyone fished with any of these rods with that length and power?
