Hey all,
I just upgraded a St. Croix MOJO Bass to a Victory - I was on the spot to upgrade and already have a few MH-F so I went with a Medium Heavy Moderate Fast instead, because I have none. I also have no experience with that action.
I've seen it touted as a good chatterbait/spinnerbait rod, but I was wondering if it could also make for a good bottom contact rod (sensitive enough)?
What do yall use a MH-MF rod for?
Thanks yall
I found a St Croix Mojo Bass casting rod on sale for $75 so I grabbed it. It's a 7'11" heavy powered rod with a moderate fast taper. The rod is made for flipping into heavy cover but with me living in Indiana there isn't a lot of heavy cover in the ponds and lakes that I fish. I need some suggestions on what I can use it for besides flipping.
I'm not going to lead the witness at all by giving any more information than needed.
Let me ask you what exactly you would use this rod for, and what gear ratio would the reel be?
7 foot medium heavy / moderate fast
Go.
I am going to be fishing for stream trout. I am thinking about getting a 5 foot UL rod. Should i have a fast action for the big ones or moderate so I don't rip the hook out of the smaller guys. I am planning on meeting in the middle with a Moderate fast action rod but im curious if it lacks the backbone to set the hook on a big one.
