  1. Hey y’all! Been having a rough time trying to research what purpose my new rod would best be suited for. I’ve been searching for days but can’t find a purpose for a 7’5 St.Croix victory rod Medium heavy with a fast action. Only rod I can find info for is the 7’3 model. Any help or tips for what I should be throwing on it would be greatly appreciated. Also to add, I have a Shimano MGL 150Hg reel with a 7.4 ration (I think) Cheers!
  2. I'm not going to lead the witness at all by giving any more information than needed. Let me ask you what exactly you would use this rod for, and what gear ratio would the reel be? 7 foot medium heavy / moderate fast Go.
  3. While I'm interested in hearing about your ideal setups, what I'm really looking for (something I can't seem to find) is some type of chart or list that details each rod with their actions, and the techniques that should be applied. Ex: Heavy Fast Rod works best for Frogging but can also be great for ______. Heavy Moderate..... ...and so forth and so on. Reason being, I have several new rods that I'd like to obviously use properly as well as assure myself that any future additions will be necessary--efficiency. ***Thanks for your input.
  4. So, I've got a few rods that I'm looking to pair with the best possible baitcaster possible (obviously subjective when discussing brands). That said, wanted to get an idea as to how I should choose the right reel to match a specific rod. Example, I have G.Loomis MBR844c Heavy Fast... how do I choose the proper reel? I assume that it can withstand a greater fight than my MBR782c Medium Fast that I paired with a Chronarch 200e7. So once again I'm trying to figure out what real peers with each specific flex from Med to Extra Heavy. Thanks!
  5. I bought three rods and three reel's 2 medium fast and 1 medium heavy and 2/6.8.1 lews speed spools and 1/7.5.1 speed spool what line should I use for them an what backing if any
