  2. Not sure if this is allowed to be here, or if I should have put it in one of the regional threads, but I couldn't help myself. New PB, baby! Didn't get a length measurement (left my tape at home like a dummy), but the scale wavered between 5.54lbs and 5.66lbs. Hard to keep her still to weigh and take a photo of. Already swapped the profile picture over to feature her. Complete photograph below. Wish I had someone with me and/or a better way to take photos. She wouldn't even fit in the frame with my arm completely extended. Anyways...Woohoo!

  6. Hello Anyone and Everyone! I'm an avid fisherman from Massachusetts, I'm looking for tips and resources for expanding my hobby. I'm 26 and have been actively kayak-fishing for 2 years now, previously I was a mope on the shore losing interest in the sport. Being on the water and controlling my fishing spots has increased my catch number exponentially, and I mean that. I've just been doing some research and figured I would hop on a respectable forum for some good chats and info. So far by scale, my biggest catch is a 4 lb. 6 oz. largemouth, I have a pic of a bigger catch without a scale but with reference sizes that I was hoping to get an estimate with these forums. Hope some of you members are familiar with the northeast because I am willing to travel New England for the perfect fishing hole. Cheers from Mass.
  7. We've all got a story, let's hear them. Mine was about 3 years ago. it was a typical saturday and i was at my favorite spot. i'd seen the dark figure of a huge fish several times that morning, but no luck getting a strike. i made a long cast, cranked the reel handle a few times and suddenly the lure stopped. i assumed it was hung up, so i raised my rod tip high and pulled back hard, hoping to free it. then i saw it, that dark shadow at the end of my line rising slowly. i managed to see the top fin break the surface, then a twitch of the head snapped my line. since that day i've been obsessed with the thought of landing that fish.
  8. I was wondering if anyone has been having any luck throwing swimbaits. I caught about a 3lb bass with a 4 inch but was thinking about upgrading the size of the bait to get bigger fish. Has anyone tried this or am I gonna be the guinea pig? Any tips or suggestions?

  20. The TrophyCatch angler recognition program that started in Florida last October is going strong. It encourages anglers to catch, document and release largemouth bass heavier than eight pounds and provides rewards for doing so. Just registering enters contestants into a drawing for a Phoenix Bass Boat with a Mercury Outboard and trailer. Sponsors provide great gifts, and it's a great web site to see where and when lunkers are turning up. Report your catch and release for rewards and bragging rights, and be able to say "My Trophy Swims in Florida."
  21. On my search for the 10lb plus bass I caught this guy. I was using an albino (all white with red eyes) 4" swim bait. The secret to swim baits is to reel in very slow.
  22. New to the Pittsburgh area and looking for fellow bassmen... I shore and tube fish now but would definatley throw in for gas and such on a boat trip.
