  1. Hello everyone! I picked up a fishing pole at Walmart on a whim that I wanted to try and catch a fish. Little did I know I would be opening the door to something I really enjoyed. Since my first catch in June of 2018 (a catfish), I have been very actively reading and watching videos about fishing and going fishing at least 2 to 3 times a week. I have pretty much become a fish-a-holic. In July I decided to try and catch a Largemouth to see what the hype was about and I was hooked into fishing and I knew then I wanted to compete in a tournament. With the help of a couple of anglers around me that were already competing I began building my collection of lures and practicing constantly with them. With the hopes to compete in 2019. I heard about this website in several videos I had watched so I decided to come on over and check it out in hopes to network and meet others who are excited in Bass fishing.
  2. So I’m a hourish away from LBL and I don’t have a boat so I’m stuck at the shore. I was reading online that there are many interior ponds. I spent a little over an hour on google with no luck. I called the visitor center and they told me to go to their website but their website didn’t help because under the fishing fact sheet 2018 it doesn’t give me that actual locations to the interior ponds. If anyone knows any places besides golden pond please let me know.
  3. Hey I'm moving near Fort Campbell soon and I'm looking for some good places to go bass fishing. I tried looking online but all I'm seeing is lake Kyle, and land between lakes. I currently don't have a boat so I'm limited to shore fishing. Do y'all know of any places? Thanks in advanced.

  6. I wanted to make this post to discuss Bull Shoals Lake fishing. I fish all the local tournaments which are mostly at night. The fishing here is completely different than any other lake I've been on. Anybody have any experience on this lake? I can catch 2-5 lbers but getting that 5+ has been a challenge. I know they are out there! Any advice would be great.
  7. Hello, I am curious to see if you have any advice on how to start a local bass club. After doing multiple searches I have not been able to locate many open tournaments or clubs in my area for the non boater. I plan on purchasing a boat in the future but it just isn't in the budget at the moment but I would like to have the ability to compete. Since I have been unsuccessful in finding a club to join in or around Shelbyville Ky I thought that I may just start one. Any advise or direction would be much appreciated.
  8. From the album: Bass Of 2015

Caught on March 22, 2015. Water temp 55 Degrees, air temp 58 degrees with a SE wind.
  9. Total newbie to the site and forum. I'm really excited to learn from everyone, as well as the awsome website! I'm in Northern Kentucky, bout 15 minutes from crossing the river into Ohio. Other than becoming a friend of a local VFW pond with access to the licking river, I fish mostly in farm ponds, stocked public parks, a large creek in indiana on my dads property, and anywhere else with water where I wont get arrested. I havn't caught any huge fish around here, but I did win a biggest fish contest during a tournament last year with a 16" largemouth bass. I only fish for bass, but a fish is a fish right? Caught the fishing bug and 2nd degree sunburn last year. This year I have caught 21 bass, 4 panfish, and one fish that I can't identify... I'm new into it, but I think I have some good gear and confidence in the holes I fish. I've almost ticked all my friends off by talking about fishing at gatherings, pretty much every time. So I look at this forum as a place to be a fishing nerd and have a little acceptance. I'm a 28 year old white boy with a beer gut, and I respect anyone who knows and loves fishing. You should know that I have a dry sense of humor, and am always ready to joke around. I also like moderate paced walks on the beach and the color blue. I don't eat coconut or water chesnuts, it's a texture thing. Hope to find some friends, and more places to fish!
  10. Well like it says, I aint exactly new. I've been a member of this site since 2005, however I haven't been on much lately. Therefore I figured i would intro myself once again. Live in Lexington, Kentucky. Do most of my fishing in Owenton. Small private lake community called Elk Lake.
  11. Can't find any good maps of this lake, and its really low due to them draining it some. Planning on heading there Sunday and looking for some pointers on where to start fishing. Water temp is around 45 degrees
