  1. From the album: Double Digit

Caught on Strike King Pumpkin Seed jig
  2. From the album: Double Digit

Knew she was big, but didn't think she would get to double digits. Though she was around 9.0 - 9.5 then I put her on the scale.
  3. I'm looking at getting 2 reels. One is a larger spinning reel for lake trout fishing down to 150 feet and up to 2oz or even a little more jig. The other is a micro casting reel for a shorter casting rod for jerkbait fishing. What's better, Kastking or Piscifun? And what models? Thanks in advance.
  4. I'd love to have a discussion about Kastking reels with other fans or critics. I'm very happy with my reels from them and wanted other thoughts, good or bad. I like the "Amazon brands because I live in the middle of nowhere and Walmart kinda sucks on reel selection. KK has so many choices and they're all affordable for most people. Just want to see if anybody else has a collection of them or opinions about them. Thanks, Al
  5. Hey guys, I use braid to leader for most of my applications. I’ve used original power pro and kastking super power braid (both 4 carrier) with no issues. Well I got a new rod/reel and decided I wanted to try an 8 carrier, in hopes that it would be smoother and quieter coming through the guides. I purchased Daiwa J braid X8 when I saw how low the price was. I have found that it IS quiet, but sometimes during a cast the spool will stop quickly like a backlash, but there is no overrun on the spool. Has anyone else had this issue with 8 carrier braids? Is it just the J braid? Or is it a coincidence as I have never seen this before. Thanks in advance. All lines in question are 40 and 50 lb test.
  6. I'm on a budget, and I don't want to spend over $55 on a reel

  8. Picked up a KastKing Megajaws reel in the 7.2:1 gear ratio right after Christmas because I’ve heard nothing but good things about their products, and needless to say, I’m impressed. Paired it with a Bucoo SR Trap Caster... mostly for 1/4oz SK RES’s. Feels great in my hands. I like a lower profile reel. I’m looking to give the Royale Legend (older model) a try just based on the price. Anyone have experience with these two reels? How do they compare in profile and performance?
  9. Hello guys. I wanted some advise about buying a spinning reel bit I'm in a budget. I plan to fish inshore in saltwater. I will mostly target fishes not greater than 3lb. I'm looking at two cheap spinning reels: Daiwa revros Lt and Okuma Ceymar Match ( cost around to 50$). Can anyone give me some advise which one would be the best? Any experience with this reels? Thanks
  10. Just watched a Christmas story and could not help myself. I did not win the leg. Actually I entered KastKing's holiday gift giveaway and received an e-mail stating I won a prize. Today a Speed demon pro crankbait rod was delivered to my door. I put my spare Tatula loaded with 12 pound Flouorokote line on it and proceeded playing around in the yard. It is a very nice rod. It will see a lot of action, throwing rattle traps. Can't wait to try it out. Ironically I almost bought this same rod a couple weeks ago, but decided to wait until after the holidays.
  11. I'm thinking about buying a bait caster from Walmart. The reel is a Kast King Royale Legend. Has anyone heard of Kast King or used their reels before? I saw they were on ICAST but for 10 ball bearings for 40$ it seems to good to be true and there must be a catch......
  12. I was just wonder what all of your thoughts were on the KastKing Spartacus reel before I buy one. What is it good for?
  13. Looking at buying a Kastking Stealth. Any body using one and what's your opinion?
  14. I purchased three Kastking Speed Demons and three Kastking Royale Legend reels in mid-November. As a practice, I always tear down a new baitcast reel to check components, clean and use a synthetic lube for bearings, buff metal drag washers and lube gears. During this process I found the drag tension spring washers on all six reels improperly installed. While I had the reels apart I took some photos. I notified KastKing US and China support of this issue. After they researched, the production manager in China admitted they have been making an assembly mistake(see correspondence screenshot). Since Kastking has not posted anything in regard to this issue that I could find I decided to contribute. It will only take 4-5 minutes to check your reel and correct. Just flip the position of the spring washers to the proper alignment (see misalignment schematic). The correction should add quite a bit more range in drag tension.
  15. 105 yards of Kastking 30lb braid and 330 yards of 30 lb Daiwa Jbraid. I can recall there being some discussions about Kastking braid here and there so I wanted to get to the bottom of all of the questions for myself. I went ahead and purchased 500 and something yards of 30lb metered braid from them. When I was pulling this off I did notice how loosely woven it was even for a four strand line. The packaging did say that the diameter of the line was .25 mm just shy of .001 of an inch. I spooled A shield 6000 size reel and to my surprise that large spool that I believe was rated to take 400 yards truck just 105 yards of the Kastking before it was full. This is not a small spool. This is also the same sport that I had previously put on 330 yards of Daiwa Jbraid (adv thickness .27mm, .02mm more than the adv kastking) and had extra room. Out of curiosity and my disappointment I measure the diameter of this line and it came out to be almost twice the thickness as advertised (.45mm instead of the .25 claimed). Needless to say I gave them bad feedback and a bad review which upon they sent me iMessage stating that they would refund two dollars if I were to keep this line. Seeing as I'd rather have my $20 back rather than a spool of crappy line I returned it anyway. Upon receiving it they offered for free if I were to remove that bad feedback, a spool of 10 pound braid green braid. After receiving the braid once again I measured it and it came up to more than twice the diameter of what they were advertising (.009 inches vs .0039). I was mostly curious about this line because of the price and social media advertising they've been doing. But I'm afraid I was simply left rather frustrated with false claims. This is usually what happens when a company tries to simply rebrand completely inferior Chinese knock off products rather than too choose to have a quality product that's made in China. There's a huge difference between the two.
