  1. Hey guys! Just posted review of the 2022 Daiwa Exist LT. Was going to write out my review on here but figured it deserved its own video on my YouTube channel. (Jadoobassin) Hope you guys enjoy it. Would love to hear your thoughts about the reel too! Thanks for the support! - Umair
  2. To start off I’m a stats nerd in spinning reels. I tend to fish more saltwater so I know all about what each spinning reel is designed for. However I started bass fishing for bass recently and was wondering if some expert here could help me understand what each of the following reels are meant for? Also how do the different models (I/k) affect the performance. Chronarch Aldebaran Bantam Metanium Antares Exsence Scorpion Also any recommendations y’all prefer? Looking for a long casting, fast retrieve/hg, 150 sized reel as a do everything rod. Hoping to find a used one for under $200. I won’t be throwing large swim baits so most of the stuff will be from 1/8 to 7/8. Would an MGL be too lightweight based? Shimano or Daiwa would be preferred. Thanks
  3. Is there anyone who owns or knows anything about either of these Raid rods? I've been trying to find information about them outside of their own website, but it's pretty difficult to come by. I mainly want to know how they compare against a Destroyer P5 (or any other higher-end rod) in terms of quality, sensitivity, etc... Thank you in advance.
  4. So I’ve had a 13 *** for a while now (little less than a year) and it’s starting to slow down on me , I can feel the gears and loud on the retrieve, I was looking at the Shimano Scorpion DC 17 as a possible replacement as I still have a warranty on the 13 so I could just return it and pay 30 dollars extra for the Shimano , I love the look and feel of the 13 but the DC tech is tempting. Thoughts ?
  5. I am looking to add another rod to my line up. I would like to get a set up for lighter baits, like weightless light. I could also use it for fishing finesse jigs and what have you since I live in Minnesota. Although I'm looking for more input on the reel side, I should probably say that I am planning to get something like a 6'10" to 7'0" medium fast action rod. Possibly the newer Ducket Triad since I really like my Micro Magic. So as I mentioned before I need a lightweight reel that can cast light weight baits well. I have recently fallen in love with Daiwa, I bought a Tatula CT and a CT Type-R. So far I have narrowed my search to the new Tatula SV TWS because of the SV spool, and the solid platform. I also have really caught the itch for the Daiwa T3. I know it's not a new reel, but it can be found new on Ebay fairly easily. I would like to hear any and all of you guy's thoughts on all of the models like the T3 Ballistic, MX, 1016 and so on. Unfortunately the T3 SV looks to be much more expensive. Like I said, I would love to hear your thoughts on my narrowed choices, as well as some other recommendations if you have any. Thanks!
  6. What are some of the best JDM soft plastics out there? I recently bought some Imakatsu Hairy Hawg's and want to expand my JDM collection.
  7. what are your thoughts on jump frog type lures like these? unlike most topwaters they have heavy bodies with a slow sink rate so that they can plow through cover better than their soft bodied counterparts. they look like a buzzbait on the surface, spitting water everywhere. the mouths on them are flat, instead of cupped like a popper so they can "jump" out of the water a little bit when snapped hard enough. they originally created in Thailand by guys who were tired of having their soft buzz frogs chewed to death by snakehead. recently I purchased a few from MegaFrox USA and they have been producing very well. wherever I would ordinarily fish a buzz toad or weedless frog I've been using these and they've been producing pretty well!
  8. I heard that JDM reels are "legendary" I might try my first JDM reel, but if you know they can be expensive, I want to know if they are worth it. Let me know! -"This is my pawn shop"
  9. Hi BASSRESOURCE Members, I am able to get my hands on one of the two reels listed below... Shimano JDM 15 Aldebaran BFS XG Limited Japan model 2015 Shimano JDM 15 Aldebaran Japan model 2015 What would you pick? Thanks Drunkentigerrr
  10. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this reel? Did a search and there's not much out there. Seems like a regular casitas with a lighter spool. Pretty interested in this, price seems right in line with a Curado 70. Would love to hear real world impressions
  11. Hey guys I just bought an Aegis 2506 2013 models. I finally figured out its line ratings through research and they go as follows Mono Diam M(yds) 5lb 0.18 mm 140m (150 Yds) 6lb .20mm 100m(110Yds) Fluoro 4lb .17mm 140m(150 yards) 5lb .19mm 100m(110 Yards PE 1 100m Thats whats written on the box.Now I know it seems that it be straight forward but Ive heard that japanese fishing line are different from american lines because they are measured different. So how can I buy flouro to match to the reel. Is the 6lb fluoro that seagaur sells in the US the same diameter as the fluoro it sells in Japan. What ever help or suggestions I get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
  12. Alright so I missed the reel arriving this morning and had to wait until 3:00 to pick it up ... In that time I went home spooled it with 12 yozuri and went straight out back . I took a drop shot rod and put the metanium on my 6' 6 mh micro magic pro. I've fished this rod with my ci4+'s and it was so light it floated with reel when over board once. Honestly the metanium felt heavier . But in a more solidly mechanical way. Initially I was fishing from land and casting a 3/8 spinnerbait. I pushed the limits of the reel and just launched and had no thumb.... and I hadn't made one adjustment to the reel. What surprised me wasn't the backlash , but how far the lure had gotten despite it. So I added one break and tried it again .. Further and another black lash . Clicked the 2nd click on the outer brake adjustment ..... And then reel showed me why I instantly knew I'd want another . Probably 60 yards and only the same thumb I use to stop a jig when pitching when it hits the water . Now I never intended to throw spinnerbaits with this reel because of xg version. But I what I noticed was how much control I had over the speed of the spinnerbait with the high speed that I can't recall having . I may start using it for spinnerbaits on the next one. It definitely could handle it effortlessly . Then I decided to get in the paddle boat and try my first top water session of the year . I've simplified most of my topwater fishing now to mostly white and black baits ... White sexy dog . And went about 10 for 15 until now .... Caught one on dropshot after a missed blowup . Caught one 5lber was good too see the reel handle fish with ease . What's impressive is how the reel doesn't backlash ... You really have to make a mistake after its dialed in. Tomorrow I will throw some finesse swim jigs and other baits to see how it handles . But this reel was purchased to pitch . All in all I wouldn't just jump out and say it's better than the 13 metanium. It's got some small refinements . I like this color more. I'll be purchasing another in the fall most likely . And it will most likely be an mgl . Some pics .. Feel free to ask what you'd like
  13. Gonna get my first JDM reel here soon. Getting the Shimano Scorpion XT1000 used but in good condition. I'm looking to get the Scorpion 200 (same frame as the Curado I) soon as well. Can anybody tell me how good these reels perform as well as her JDM Shimano reels and what to look for?
  14. Where do you guys buy tackle from Japan? What is a safe website?
  15. I've recently been getting deeply into finesse cranking ... I've been catching a lot more fish in pressured and clear water this winter this way. Even down to depths of 15ft with small but finely tuned baits . I've been testing out some of the newer baits (bling 55) and some of the older ones (shad rap) and the today my raid level cranks . These are the first horizontal swimming slow sinking crankbait . Though the bait sinks it is able to balance itself on its hooks and sit off of the bottom. I wanted to take it to a clear deep water resevoir but it didn't come in the mail until after my sons came home so paddle boat behind the house it was again today. At first glance the bait is extremely small and to the eye you'd think it was harder to cast than a #2 shad wrap, but you'd be wrong . Casts like a xr25 or better . Also the hooks are extremely small and have some full coating on them that I believe actually protects them. I was hesitant about the hooks but too hyped to throw the bait to change it . Plus I wanted to give it a fair shot . The bait does crank differently than any crankbait I've ever felt while reeling in. It does not come with a split ring , just line tie direct. It tracks straight though and the pause has a deadly shiny . Threw it for about 40 minutes and got one bite . It got slammed by lower 6lb fish. Needless to say now my son thinks he needs 25 dollar baits to catch fish like dad... Even though he was throwing a just as good bling 55 that I'd caught a 7lber on in the same spot couple days ago . Right now the water is still a little colder than the bass like it in va. But i will be definitely using this bait a lot more . Just at 25 dollars a bait it's hard to feel safe in anytbing but grass for me lol . But I definitely think this is a good bait and would recommend fellow members to give it a shot . I doubt many have something like it in your box . Since there was little info written about or on it before I bought mine I decided to try to share the wealth . Just don't fish against me with it:) Was thrown on a 7ft medium action duckett micro magic spinning rod . Stradic ci4+ , 8lb fireline original , 8lb Floro leader .
  16. I just ordered a Megabass Levante series flipping rod and was wanting to get some opinions on reels that are out on the market. I know the Levante is a US Megabass rod but I was really wanting to look into getting something JDM for a reel, I would like to say below $250 and wondering what some of your opinions are. I looked into the Megabass FX68, and multiple daiwa reels wanted to get some opinions before I spent money in a market that I'm not fully fimiliar with. Thanks!

  20. Has anyone used a Daiwa Aegis yet? It looks pretty sweet and has good specs. Any thoughts? What in Daiwa’s spinning reel line up would this be equivalent to and how would you compare? Daiwa Aegis 2004 Mag Sealed Air Rotor Zaion Material Real Four Concept ABS II Spool Xross Wrap Twist Buster II Air Bail Ultimate Tournament Drag Digi Gear II Gear Ratio:4.8:1 One handle turn per 63cm Weight 190g Max Drag 2kg Ballbearings:7 Ballbearings & 1 Rollerbearing Line Capacity: Monofilament:4lb-100m
  21. So I just got back from my week long trip to Japan I'll update this post with more details later, but I figure I'd share my JDM purchases while I was over there. I ended up getting some reels that I didn't think I was going to get, but it was too hard to pass up. Saw way too many reels, but decided to pass on some good deals like an Alphas Finesse Custom for $110 (it was in mint condition) because I knew I'd be doing some more offshore jigging this year versus bass fishing. So here was my final purchases: 1) Shimano Exsence DC (Brand New) 2) Daiwa Certate 2506H (Used, but in Excellent Condition) 3) Shimano Ocea Jigger 5000P (Brand New, bought two of them ) Here are pictures: Shimano Exsence DC Daiwa Certate 2506H Hi Gear Custom Shimano Ocea Jigger 5000P
