I am back in the Houston area, and am wondering if anyone is having any luck now that the temperature has dropped? I fished a couple ponds and the dinks seem to be the only active fish.
any recommendations on baits and spots would be appreciated.

Just went fishing with a friend for the first time and I am now hooked on fishing. Now I got that bait monkey on my back poking at me to get my own setup. He is probably asleep right now, but I am very eager to head out to bass pro shop tomorrow and pick up my first rod and reel setup. Picking up any last minute tips on here before I go make the big decision. Need some good ode fashion advice from the community to keep the bait monkey at bay before he comes poking for an upgrade.
Anyone know of any places to fish topwater frogs at in Cypress/Houston Texas? Im looking for a lilly covered pond or something like that. Or how to find a good place to fish topwater frogs? All help would be appreacited. Thanks.
