  1. Hi I have a phenix maxim 7'2"m spinning rod and I am unsure as to what size spinning reel I should put on it. The problem I am having is for a 7'2" rod the handle is only 12 1/2 inches long and I am unsure as to what size reel I should get. I am planning on getting a shimano nasci and planning to put 15pd braid on it. If it helps I am located in socal and I'm planning on fishing it in the harbor as a drop shot rod for bay bass and the occasional halibut. Also I thought I would mention that all my local tackle shops are either completely out of stock or do not sell the nasci's yet since they are fairly new so I cannot try the reels themselves out on my rod and I have heard rumors that the sizing of the nasci's is different than reels before it so I am skeptical about trying different models like the stradic sahara or sedona. Thank u for your time any help is much appreciated.
