  1. Someone wanted a Salmon rod. Blank: Rodgeeks 8'6" HF 2 pc Seat: Fuji ECS Guides: Fuji Alconite BCKWAG Hook keep: Kigan XLA (TiCh) Butt cap: Mudhole Thread: Makoi dark green nylon Decal: Decal Connection Finish:. Threadmaster
  2. Finally built the Eternity I picked up over a year ago. It's not nearly as powerful as I expected. To me, it falls more in the Lite/Fast spectrum than Medium/x-fast. It loads up pretty significantly when working a 3/8 weight. Much less powerful than my St. Croix 5S610MLXF. Feels more in line with my NFC DS610-IM. It fishes nice and is super light weight. Balances well when paired with the Vanquish. I need to put it on a scale because I think it may be the lightest rod I've ever built (excluding ice rods) Blank: Rainshadow ETES610MXF Guides: Fuji T2 SiC Hook Keeper: Kigan XLA (TiCh) Slip rings: American Tackle Cork: Natural (Custom Fly Grips) Inlay/accent cork: burnt and light (Andy Dear) Thread: Makoi charcoal without CP Winding checks: MudHole matte black. Butt cap: MudHole. Finish: Threadmaster Lite and Regular. Decals: Decal Connection Don't know where that holey cork ring came from. This was my personal stash of good stuff
  3. From time to time, I get requests to replace grips and reel seats. Most of the time, it's really not worth it because the repair costs more than the original rod. That wasn't the case this time. The customer absolutely hated the OEM seat on his Legend Elite spinning rod. After seeing it, I understood why. Such excessive threads. They really could have trimmed at least an inch off before assembly, but they didn't. Even if they would have taken some threads off, the seat is uncomfortable for someone with large hands. He liked the IPS seat and hidden threads locking foregrip on the Dobyns Champion rods, so that's the direction we went. I missed taking some pics as I went, like boring, splitting and gluing the arbor on the blank. Original seat and grip. Stripped and cleaned up. Had to extend the IPS grip to maintain the original reel seat location. Locking foregrip. New seat glued in position. New grip and butt cap installed and curing. All finished up.
