  1. Hey guys! Just posted review of the 2022 Daiwa Exist LT. Was going to write out my review on here but figured it deserved its own video on my YouTube channel. (Jadoobassin) Hope you guys enjoy it. Would love to hear your thoughts about the reel too! Thanks for the support! - Umair
  2. Hello everyone, I need help with keeping my buzzbaits on top of the water.. I’m throwing a 1/2oz buzz on a 7’1 heavy with40lbs braid & a 7.3.1 reel. I switch hands mid cast so I can start my retrieval as soon as the lure hits the water sometimes even a little bit before it hits. I’ve tried to speed up my retrieval & keep my rod tip high to no luck.. The buzzbait will stay about a foot under the surface until it’s maybe 5 ft from the bank that’s when it wants to surface & act like a buzzbait should act. Any help is greatly appreciated & I thank you all in advance. Tight lines everyone!!
  3. I was fishing earlier this morning with a younger angler and I hooked into this small mouth bass with a wound or growth on it but I don’t know the difference since I’m not very experienced. Just wanted to know if it’s a virus or what it might be . My dad said it could be from a bird or maybe a boat propeller but I wanted to see what others thought thanks
  4. Is there a rod size/ action/ power that would work well for both trout and crappie? I mostly fish for bass and would like to add just one rod that could be used for crappie and trout- is that possible? Price would be under $100 for rod and reel. I would be fishing mostly in ponds but would want to try streams for trout. Thanks guys!
  5. I’ve been living in Virginia Beach for 10 years now and I just got into fishing heavily around a year or two ago andy I am wondering if you guys know of any good spots for fishing and if you have any tips for this area! I heard a lot about good and bad lake tmore and I am very curious about this fishing area.
  6. Purchased a Star Rod Stella 7ft Medium-Fast and Diawa BG 3000. Thanks for your help! (Please criticize everything I'm using/buying if you think necessary. Please bless me with your wisdom. I'm pretty new to the gear world.) *Looking for a rod around $100 for freshwater bass.* Preferably 7', 1 piece, Fast & M or MH or H (which rating. suggestions?) "Best" power rating? Is there a big difference between 2pc&1pc aside from convenience? Much more sensitive? I was told the action begins at the base on a 1pc and at the middle/only the tip on a 2pc. That same person also said there isnt a difference btw 1&2pc so now I dont understand... *Purchasing a Daiwa BG 3000 spinner* Using: - 4"-5" senkos yum dinger or gambler fat ace & occasionally some spinners - 3/0 VMC widegap offset hooks - 3/16oz bullet slip sinkers - Powerpro braided line. (15lb test or 10?) If you have any suggestions on a rod and anything I should change for my rig please let me know. I was told today at a local shop that I shouldn't use braided line on a spinner and floro would be better. Especially when casting. Opinions? I've done a ton of research and been talking to a buddy from Florida. Theres so much gear I'm having trouble finding the right rod and my chat with a local shop manager contradicted most of what I've learned. I live in metro NY so serious fishing buds are hard to find. I've been fishing for a while but never really got into the gear side of it. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the long post.
  7. Here is my problem, I do local/club bass tournaments. I started doing this about three years ago. I do not want to quit. I love the competition, it pushes me to do better; However, I have always had a fondness for intracoastal fishing, and want to get back into it. I want a boat that can do it all. Rather than have multiple boats, or spending too much on one boat. The intracoastal bass boats from Skeeter, Ranger, and Triton are more than I can afford new, however I refuse to buy another used boat again! I am looking for something around 30k base price, and at least 18ft (I know that is asking a lot, lol). Anyone have any suggestions on what would be the best way to go? Keep in mind it has to meet tournament regulations for bass fishing. Is there anything out there that fits my needs, or do I just need to pick one and go with it?

  9. I'm gonna be moving here shortly to Florida, and i've gained quite the arsonal of freshwater lures, which i'd like not to go to waste. Can i use my freshwater lures in saltwater? Will they work? If so which ones?
  10. I've been looking for a reel to use in both freshwater and saltwater. I've been looking at the daiwa zillion tws and zillion sv tw. they seem the same but one has the sv concept and one does not. what are the differences and which one would be able to cast a variety of heavy and light baits. I'll be pairing it with the legend xtreme I'm getting.
  11. Does any one know what kind of fish this this?
  12. I caught a 18 inch drum today it was hard fishing on my ugly stik. Does anybody know how to catch lots of them? I used nightcrawlers
  13. I have recently bought a kastking royale legend. It got overwhelming good feedback and is very cheap. I have been researching whether or not to put backing on my reel and have come up with mixed responses. So here is my question. I am going to put on around 40 pound braid on a Spool with holes, do I need backing? Thanks for the help. P.s. Do you think 200 yards of line is enough for a big red drum?

  15. Ok so i'll be going to maryland in june and me and my friend are going to go fishing. He knows how to fillet fish so we would like to catch dinner while we're there. As far as i know there are Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, and what seems like a white perch. I know yellow perch are good but what about white perch? Also i know catfish are good but we are very unexperienced in catching them. So are bluegill or bass anygood? And what about white perch?
  16. Does anyone know anything about carp fishing seasons on the East Coast? When is prespawn, spawning period, post spawning, best fishing time of the year. I had three fishing trips to a local ponds, seen carp jumping but didn't get it to bite. Any suggestions? I used dough ball with strawberry jello, sweet potato, bread. Nothing worked so far. May be it's still to cold? Thanks.
  17. Hey everyone. I'm thinking about getting an ugly stik gx2 6'6" MH rod and a Penn Fierce 5000 spinning reel. I am going to the shore this weekend so I want to be able to use it in freshwater for flounder and small sea bass, but I also want to use it for bass in freshwater lakes. Would this rod and reel be good for both freshwater and saltwater? I appreciate all comments and opinions, they are really helpful. Thanks.
  18. Afternoon all, Like the title says, living in the DFW area since 2005. Prior to I was a 3rd generation coon ass born and raised in New Orleans. Spent my life fishing the coast for red and specks. Katrina put a kink in things around 2005 and we relocated to Dallas. Money was too good to go back. I fished 50 days a year till I moved to Texas. Going from salt to fresh was just not something I ever wanted to consider. Kiddie pools (thats what I call em) just didn't interest me and the fact that all but like one are man made just stripped the passion away for me. 8 years later...I can't take it anymore. I hear fishing down in the DFW is great for Crappie, Bass, Stripers and Cats. Figure its time to stop being a water snob and get back out there. Sadly I know NOTHING about fresh water fishing. I was going to throw a tackle box together and head out to test my luck. If you guys had to list 4 or 5 "must have lures" to have in my box for Bass and Crappie, what would you recommend? Over in the Salt Water world we had some pretty universal "go to" lures and bait. Thinking Freshwater has to have something similiar. Thanks for all your help! CE
