  1. Made my mind up I'm gonna learn to skip docks and overhangs come Hell or high water. Have a Kistler 6'9" mlh fast action with a Daiwa Tatula SV TWS and wanting line recommendations. Currently have pp ss8 in 50lb right now and absolutely can't stand the stuff. Love pp original but this ss isn't what I was hoping for. What you seasoned skippers use?
  2. I'm curious about more bass fisherman's opinions on a topic, if you had to choose one line for all applications would it be straight braid or fluoro. I'm talking clear water, muddy water, around structure, open water, weightless senkos, hollow frogs, to big swimbaits. I just purchased a MH power spinning rod rated for 3/4 to 4 ounce lures. I'm primarily a bank fisherman so I'm trying to use this rod alone to cover a lot of lure applications so I can go out quickly with one setup. Ild really appreciate some feedback on what yall think. What is your setup, if you use one rod for multiple applications? Also anyone recommend copolymer? I hear good things about pline cxx, I notice it comes in crystal clear, anyone used that?
  3. Hey guys i was just wondering , when you go down to a lighter fishing line does the fish feel it as less vibration on its lateral lines. Would it just be the bass not seeing the line per say a 3 lb line to a 6lb line?

  5. Hi guys I have a quick question if I have 30 lb braided line do i match it up with anything lower than 8 lb test line? could I attach it to lines that are higher diameter than 30 lb braid? Thanks again
  6. What kind of braid should I use for the spawn. I have a braid setup right now but will they see it and will it effect bites?
  7. Am I the only one who never uses a leader when fishing with braid? never really saw the need and as far as I can tell it doesn't affect the number or size of fish I catch in really clear water
  8. So I am limited to two rods and I'm a multi- species guy so I have a "big fish" 6ft 6 med fast action which i use for bass ( i hope to start using it for walleye, and small pike) and a "small fish" 5ft ultra light mod- fast action for trout and panfish, both are spinning tackle. Right now I'm curious about my "big fish" rod. I have had 10lb mono on it and had trouble with hooksets on small large mouths. I am considering braid but I don't really want to use a leader so I'd like to know if I should use braid, mono, or flouro. The water where I usually fish is fairly murky ( about 1 to 1.5 ft visibility) and I fish exclusively from shore. I mainly use Texas rigged or weightless plastics, small swimbaits( 2 inches), inline spinners, and spinner baits. Any advice helps.
  9. Maybe I'm just being dumb..... So I lined my Phlueger reel with Tatsu and filled the bale. My first cast was a nightmare. When I flipped, it was like the line expanded and spooled out without warning. Is there just too much line on my reel? Is this normal? Thanks for the help...
  10. i'm gettiing a new reel for my new graphite and fiberglass mh rods. I'm considering a braid because i'm gonna be ripping it through weeds and also in light cover. I am wodering what test i should use... 20 lb? Should a use leader, if so, mono or flouro and what test.
  11. I just recently picked up an Abu Garcia Veritas 7' MH rod and an Abu Garcia Promax2 7.1:1, 8 ball bearing reel and I'm wondering what I should run on it. It holds 12lb mono 145 yd and 30lb braid 145 yd... I'm going to run 30 lb braid but which of the following should I do? a. (x)lb mono backing and 30 lb braid (Don't know exact lengths of each) b. 30lb braid only c. 30 lb braid with a (x)lb mono leader (Don't know exact length of each) d. 30 lb braid with a (x)lb fluorocarbon leader (Don't know exact length of each) Much appreciated, thanks!
  12. So it is January 19 and was 60+ degrees in Kansas, so I went out and fished for a bit at a local 2 acre pond that had been frozen over until a few days ago. Caught a small little bass, but it gave me 12 straight months with at least one bass. It was also my first bass on fluorocarbon. I was using some 8# P-Line 100% Fluoro on my ML Spinning Combo and about 6 casts after my bass I have a mess with a loop that had formed on the spool. Like I said, I am new to fluorocarbon lines, what can I do to help from having this problem happen again? I am 100% sure I am to blame on this one.
