  1. I have a plastic boat that has a fairly small hole in the hull. I’ve heard that epoxy is a good idea with plastic kayaks but on the boat, I only have access to one side of the hole. I can see the hole from the outside, but on the inside of the boat there’s an extra plastic mold that completely blocks you from seeing the hole. Is an epoxy still possible if I can’t get to both sides? If it’s not, what are my best options here? Any advice would be helpful.
  2. I've done all this and I'm still getting noise when I run the motor: Common ground from starting battery to negative post on 24v battery Lowrance is wired directly to starting battery. Clamp on ferrite chokes on all wires. Transducer mounted on transom, with wire running down driver side, and tm power wires are running down passenger side. 2 things I haven't tried: using a standalone battery for the depth finder, and disconnecting the common ground and on board charger. Any suggestions?
  3. Hello, alright so I recently just bought a 1982 skeeter fisherman boat of Craigslist for a pretty d**n good price. Only problems with it is that the Bilge pump needed to be replaced and livewell tubing. I'm having some problems with figuring out the holes in the tandem(since this is my first boat). I tried to upload a picture of the 3 holes but it wouldn't upload. The boat only has 1 livewell so I know the hole at the far left is the intake for the livewell. The middle hole is just a tube and I'm not sure where it comes from and the far right hole leads straight into the hull with no tube connections. Is that a hole I need to plug or should it be used for something? I know his is a pretty stupid question and I might sound like such a noob but this is my first boat, I'm young, and I have no experience with boats. Please help! Thank you!
  4. So long story short I ordered a Skeet Reese Finesse Tube Jig Rod. I've found that a high percentage of the rods have flaws in them and need to be returned but those that are unflawed are absolutely perfect for my style fishing. Well, I happened to get unlucky when purchasing my second Finesse Tube Jig Rod. One of the guides halfway up the rod was enameled over. Basically what this means is the "glaze" (enamel) that they put over each guide made a connection with the other side of the guide. A lot of people have made this complaint on the reviews and I was hoping I got lucky enough to get a decent rod. Anyways, the enamel bonded to itself completely covering my guide. I couldn't put mono through it, nothing. Completely covered. I used a pocket knife to very carefully poke a hole in the enameling and made a hole big enough to put my mono through. I was rigging up the rod on-site and was my only rod at the time, so I had to deal. Didn't catch any and my line didn't get cut or anything. Is it possible for me to fix it by just chipping off pieces of enamel or will that give the ceramic insert jagged edges. Q-Tip test resulted in a catch on enamel, not ceramic. Can I fix it or should I return it? I've got a fishing event on Wednesday, so should I explain that the rod sent was faulty and I need to get a new one by Wednesday? Got it off Amazon so not sure if they'd fork over expedited shipping to get it by Wednesday. I'm guessing I'll have to mail the "broken" one back? Also, forgot to mention I don't want to have to replace the guide. If I bought it brand new for nearly 100$ I shouldn't need to be repairing it from day 1.
  5. So, here's the picture. I've got a fairly old motor that hasn't been run in 5 plus years. it was given to me for 25 bucks. I the guy I got it off of said it had a weak cylinder. but it ran the last time he used it. He's a friend of my dad's so I am pretty sure he wouldn't screw me over with a seized engine. has anyone ever tried starting an old engine like this? i will update with engine info and pictures. Also following the update i need to find a new cowling for the motor. I'm not sure of the laws or if there is any laws about having a cowling that says the wrong horsepower. I can do whatever work is needed for the engine. I'm learning enough to know what goes where and does what, I'm just not sure where to really start. All help is appreciated. Thank You. UPDATE: numbers- 200lt78r j5003852 im looking for a free manual for this engine. if you know of a website please share, thank you
