    Looking for an all around baitcaster to pair with a 7’3” MH legend tournament I just got from my fiancé for Xmas. Sadly I have to wait to use it as I live in Minnesota but heading to Newton Lake (top 20 bass fishing lake) in Southern IL in April. I have Shimano SLX-DC, Daiwa tatula SV TW 103, and Lews Pro Ti reels. They’re all great but would love some input on what to pair with a “do it all” rod. I primarily bass fish and occasionally go for pike. I am pretty thrifty when it comes to finding deals so feel free to throw a $300 reel on here as a suggestion if you think it’s worth the extra $$$. Thanks in advance!!

    Is Lew's Custom Speed Spool SLP good? I've never had a baitcaster, I've used one before and this Lew's has everything I want. Quality ball bearings, good all round gear ratio, aluminum frame and spool. I like the dual brakes as well. I would pair it with Lew's Custom TP Rod. I fish for mainly bass, some panfish and next year I hope to catfish. I would enjoy your input. How is this brand? Do you like their reels? How often would I need to maintenance it? I really appreciate your answer.

    Early this month I decided to buy a new casting reel. After a few days of looking around I decided to buy a lews reel. A short time later I decided to buy Team Lews Custom Pro Speed Spool slp. All I can say is this reel is amazing. Its super lite, very well built, extremely easy to tune and will cast far. The way the reel sits on pole makes it easy handle not to mention comfortable. The 4 pin 27 position centrifugal breaks are by far the best breaking system I ever used. This reel is also moderately priced at $260 dollars. The reel is a one piece aluminum frame with carbon sideplates and handle. It also uses airplane grade materials. This reel is partically impossible to backlash if tuned properly. With this reel you will be able to cast really far with ease. Few days ago i went to a FOOTBALL FIELD to see how far I can cast. I decided to bring 3 lures with me. I did 5 cast for each lure. First lure was a 6 gram or .21 oz blue fox spinner. I was able to cast 44.4 to 47.7 yards. Next was a 10gram or .35 oz rooster tail. I was able to cast 53.8 to 57.1yards. Finally i tried something really light. A 4 gram or .14 oz blue fox spinner I was able to cast that 30.2 to 33.9 yards. These distances were measured the real way, the accurate way in a football field with yard markers. My conclusion is if your looking for a reel that's well built, very low profile, cast a mile, feels great in hand and impossible to backlash if set rite then get this reel. You will not be dissapointed at all its simple amazing and it only cost $ 260 dollars which isn't that much for a casting reel.

    Hello all, my name's Tom and I just got a powell endurance utility rod, I throw A-rigs on there as well as jigs, carolina rigs, swimbaits etc., heavier lures basically, the reel I have on there has crappy drag, so I'm looking for a new one, any recommendations? I'm trying to stay under $150

    So I know know that I want a Lews reel. I don't really have a spending limit but I would like to know if there is a big difference between like the Team Lews Lite and the Tournament Pro? What is your favorite. I plan on pairing the reel with a 7'3 MH Duckett Micro Magic Pro Jig fishing mainly.
