  1. I have a plastic boat that has a fairly small hole in the hull. I’ve heard that epoxy is a good idea with plastic kayaks but on the boat, I only have access to one side of the hole. I can see the hole from the outside, but on the inside of the boat there’s an extra plastic mold that completely blocks you from seeing the hole. Is an epoxy still possible if I can’t get to both sides? If it’s not, what are my best options here? Any advice would be helpful.
  2. I picked up a Quantum 7' KVD Medium heavy crankbait rod for around $80 on a good sale from Tackle Warehouse around the holidays. I have used it a couple of times and like the rod so far. However, I did notice that the epoxy around most of the guides seems to have air under it, and while fishing in light rain the other day I noticed that water will get underneath the epoxy and touch the thread wraps in some of these spots. I am on the fence on whether or not I should send this back as a warranty claim and try my luck with a new one. May not be a big deal but the water getting in seems concerning. Looking for some thoughts on how much of a problem this really is to the rod's longevity, performance, etc, and if it would be worth the $20 or so in freight to send it back. Photos of a few of the guides are attached. Thank you in advance for helping ease my mind. Jake
  3. I'm new to making lures, and I'm wondering what I should use for adhesives and clearcoats.I don't think I should use superglue because i've heard it degrades in water. I Have heard clear gorilla epoxy also degrades in water, so I don't know about that.I have some spraycan acrylic clearcoat already if that's usable.
  4. I have an '88 Bass Tracker that bilges itself quite often. I have inspected it fairly well and see no obvious large leaks and plan to seal up all the rivets and welds that look questionable. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? What products and process should I use. Is there a lot of prep to the surface? Should I wire wheel the spots first or is a powerwasher sufficient? I just got the boat for a great deal and I plan to do some upgrades. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
