  3. Hi Everyone, I’m up north in Michigan and a few weeeks away from some cooler weather potentially. Ideally I want to be able to fish into the snow and know I need to look at some good suits for this. Wondering what everyone uses up here in the northern US states to continue their fishing season as long as they can. Thanks in advance.
  4. So I’ve gone out once a day (for at least 3 hours) the last 4 days. All the ponds around me are still partially/totally frozen. For the ones that aren’t totally frozen I’ve been throwing jigs to the deepest spots of the pond, or at least the deepest spots I can cast to and I’ve had no luck at all. Not even a bite. It’s honestly really discouraging and I’m about to hang up my hat and wait until it gets warmer out. It sucks getting all bundled up and standing in the cold snow and wind to just get frustrated. What do you guys think, should I just wait until the water warms??
  5. I am a writer for the fisherman magizine, and my newest article is on winter fishing. If you have any pictures you want in article please send and leave your first and last name, I will only pick a couple. The pictures must be from winter, and you have to live in New Jersey.
  6. Hey how's every one doing? So I am in search of cold weather bass fishing gloves. More specifically a pair of gloves that I can cast and not lose the feeling of my bait caster in my thumb while fishing. Also hoping that they will be water proof and wind resistant. Do any of you know of any gloves that exist? Also I am wanting to know what problems do you guys have with gloves, or do you even wear gloves, what features do you guys look for in a pair of fishing gloves, and do about how often do you buy a new pair of gloves? thanks for the help yall Ty
  7. Hey yall I am getting ready to go fish some pretty clear water in a couple of weeks and was looking for some advice since I fish nothing but dirty water. I fished there last summer for a little bit but not much success unless it was dark out. The lake is a naturally cold lake that is visible 6-10ft in most places. Any advice on how to fish in this type of water would be greatly appreciated.

  9. I have a tournament coming up this weekend. I haven't had a lot of success in practice but I have seen huge groups of spotted bass in 40 feet of water. They are anywhere from the bottom to about 10 feet off bottom. The water temperature is around 48. I've thrown a lot of different things at them and no luck. Any ideas on what to do? Keep in mind the water clarity is always stained on the Alabama River. Current is normally from 10pm to 8am then no current the rest of the day.
  10. Can the cold affect your reels? i keep my rods and reels on the indoor porch and it gets as cold as -9 degrees out there at night this time of year. today i went and messed with one of my spin reels and the anti reverse wasnt working :/ flicked the switch a few times and still nothing. could the cold be to blame? I'm thinking of taking all of my reels and stowing them out of the cold somewhere.
  11. Hey guys, I live in northern WI. Temps are already starting to drop. I was wondering what your favorite fall lure/bait is. I primarily fish from shore. I am wondering for your go to lure as water temps drop for September, October, and into November? Thanks in advance

  15. Have many of you fished lakes around beginning of April in the Northeast? How is the fishing? I'm gonna have the boat up and ready to go April 1st. However, I don't have much experience bass fishing this early in the year in lakes. I consider myself an avid fisherman, but not in lakes. I just purchased my first boat last fall. I have a Nitro 700, humminbird side sonar 898c, and all the fishing equipment you could ask for......but.......I need some help with where to start on these early season bass. Any suggestions, tips, or tricks are greatly appreciated! thanks everyone!
