  1. I am 16 years old and have a 14’ jon boat with a 9.9hp. I am obsessed with bass fishing and taking my boat out whenever I can. I have gotten to know Fountainhead, Bull Run, and the Occoquan river with consistent luck, pretty much going every weekend that I can. I have done some club tournaments in the past but looking for something with smaller entry fee’s. A smaller club tournament where I could either use my jon boat or fishing as a co angler. Again looking for a tournament with small entry fees in the Northern Va area or within 45 minutes of Fairfax Virginia. Thanks, James P
  2. I’m a co angler looking for a guaranteed boater for Illini BFL 2018. Thank you, andrew
  3. Moved to Jacksonville from St. Cloud. I had plenty of lakes and angler friends there and fished many tournaments while I lived there. Recently started fishing the BFL as a coangler. Ive been wanting to fish tournaments with clubs here but I don't know of any and I don't really know anyone in the area. The other issue is if I do find a club I currently don't have a boat and I'm not sure how many folks would be willing to let me fish out the back of theirs. I would be willing to pay half of everything (fees, fuel, hotel, etc). I am a pretty well rounded guy as far as life and fishing goes. If anyone could help steer me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. (I promise not to step on your seats or trash your boat!)
  4. Kerr Lake BFL this Saturday (3/17) - NEED BOATERS TO SIGN UP !!! I need about another 20 boaters to sign up and get me off the non-boater waitlist!!!
  5. I'm a co-angler looking for a boater to link with for the North Carolina BFL Division. If you would like to link with me for these events please comment. I appreciate any comments and interest. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys. I have a couple questions about the BFL. I've been fishing as a co-angler in two different circuits in American Bass Anglers tournaments for the past two years and I want to try some different waters. So I was thinking about trying the BFL as a co-angler in 2017 (potentially the Great Lakes/Wisconsin division). As far as I know, the BFL has boaters fishing against boaters and co-anglers against only other co-anglers. Is this still true? It's been incredibly difficult getting decent points in the ABA as a co-angler trying to compete against experienced boaters. I guess the question is will it be significantly different from the ABA tournaments in any way? If so, is there anything different on the co-angler side that I should be aware of? I also saw that the BFL just opened their tournament registration a few days ago. So I'm wondering if there's a need for co-anglers to register as quickly as possible, or if those slots don't fill up nearly as quickly as spots for boaters? Besides those things, I'd like to hear if anyone has any insights with the BFL that might help someone thinking about making a move to that league after the long, cold winter.
  7. So I have never fished on a tournament level but I am not new to fishing by any means, but I could use any advice for fishing ABA tournaments as a co-angler. I know that there are some necessities such as rain gear, and organized tackle etc. but I am wanting any good info that I have not thought of. Basically the what to do and not to do.
  8. I am fishing as a co-angler in tournaments coming up this season, just a local club but am pretty excited to try something Ive always wanted to do. It is my first tournament experience though… Ive read a few searched posts on coangler rods and tackle and wanted to get some thoughts on what I have in my 4 rod setup currently and what maybe I should change up or add. I am going right now with a 4 rod set-up 1 spinning rod 6’6 – with 10lb floro. For finesse, drop shot and shaky heads 1 baitcast 7:1 ,med/heavy 7’0 – 15 lb floro, has been my main go to with spinnerbaits and heavy cranks (am I too heavy on line?) 1 baitcast 6:2:1, med/heavy 6’6 – 65lb braid – was gonna use it for a bama rig, possibly heavy spinners or heavy brush jigs. I plan to start with this rig with the bama rig tied on at about 1.5-2oz. 1 baitcast med/heavy 6’6 (little more flex) – 12 lb floro I think but Im not sure what I want to put here? - this is for some cranking, suspended jerks That’s what I have right now. Am I missing anything? On the right track? Would you add a rod or change/swap a line?? This will be a tennessee river system tournament if that makes a difference! Thanks for the help and hope this helps others
