  1. Hey BR, Memorial Day my son and headed to Lake Fork for a few hours between storms. Attached is a video of our morning trip. thanks for watching!
  2. Hey everyone, so my go-to is the Yum Dinger/Yum Finesse Worm (Wacky, Neko, Carolina in Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red Flake, June Bug). This spring I want to start expanding more and using Arkie Jigs. Does anyone have any recommendation on their favorite brand and color, trailer (craws/grubs/paddletails) combinations for the different seasons? Which works best for you? Also, how do you normally retrieve such jigs with the specific combinations? Again, I am just looking to expand and perfect my arsenal one at a time. Any help would be amazing I also use Crankbaits (Berkely Pitbull 5.5 Squarebill), Buzz Baits (Booyah 3/8 top water) and Swimbaits (Powerbait 4" Rib Shads ) but for some reason or another unsuccessful using them. I will save that for another thread lol.
  3. Anybody do this: take the skirt off a buzzbait and thread a plastic toad on? When would you prefer this over a regular skirt? Are there some buzzbait brands that work better than others for this? (like, bigger blades to keep the toad lifted?) Are there any toads work better than others for this? (lighter or more bouyant, perhaps?)
  4. I am looking for someone to "pour", make, mfg., a couple dozen buzz baits of my special design....thanks
  5. Season is just opening up in about a month, and I'm wondering in what water temps some of you have successfully used a buzz bait. I know it is not an extremely popular early prespawn lure, but curious if anyone has experience with it. Same question for a buzzing frog as well such as a Strike King Rage toad.
  6. I am still relatively new to the sport of bass fishing with artificial lures. When we go out I throw a texas rigged plastic (worm or creature) or a topwater frog and that is what I catch bass on. My question is, when are lures like spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and chatterbaits useful and more productive than a texas rig? When (what time of year/time of day) do bass prefer faster more horizontal presentations over a slower moving worm or creature bait? I have heard that faster presentation work better when bass are prespawn and are loading up for the spawn and when they are chasing shad, otherwise during the spawn and post spawn they don't like to chase lures. If some of you could please give me some insight and share their wisdom with me so I can hopefully learn how to use these lures and above all be productive using these lures it would help me a lot. I've thrown smaller spinnerbaits with a colorado blade with no bites, and I've thrown a 3/4 and 1/8 ounce chatterbait later in the evenings with no bites. I tied on a buzzbait yesterday evening just before dark just to see how it would run in the water before we left. No bites. The waters I fish are generally lightly stained to murky ponds 1/4 acre on up to 1 acre plus. Some have heavy grass cover, some heavy wood cover. Crappy bottoms that hang lures easily so crankbaits are pretty much out for me until I get a boat and go out to the lake. Help me out guys..
  7. Does anyone use dual lock snaps on buzz baits or does that mess with the action? If so, have you ever had a problem with them?
  8. Due to my ability to use common sense I quite enjoy topwater fishing, but I've always been confused as to which lures are better for what conditions. When is it better to toss out a skitterpop vs a zara spook (my favs) or a buzzbiat instead of a rebel pop r or skitterprop or other propeller bait. S.O.S. Thank in advance
