  1. I believe the line rating for my rod is somewhere between 8-18 pounds. It does not specify mono or braided. If I put 30 pound mono or braided on that rod, will it break the rod? Sorry if it’s a dumb question I am new to this. Thank you in advance.
  2. A week or 2 ago i was fishing with my buddy and we pulled on our line to compare the amount of tip on our rods since i had an extra heavy and he had a heavy but after a few light pulls of my line a few inches of the tip snapped off. Anyone know why?
  3. Veritas 2.0s are on sale for $65. Went to buy one, but learned about all the snapping issues, and am now reluctant. Do they really break this easily? $100 marked down to $65 is very tempting, but is it worth the buy? Considering veritas or falcon hd.
  4. Anyone have any experience with Fenwick's customer service? I love their rods and my whole arsenal is Daiwa reels and Fenwick rods. Was out fishing with my dad earlier this week and he stepped on and bent my 7'6" HMX punching rod's eyelet. I slowly and carefully bent the eyelet back straight and the resin cracked. The eyelet is now straight but the resin holding it to the rod has a fracture in it. The rod is fine but after all, it is my punching/frog rod that sees the most abuse and I would really like to get it fixed/replaced. Does anyone have any experience with Fenwick's customer service? I bought the rod from Gander Mountain only a few months ago and have the receipt.
  5. Had new line break halfway through the spool? So I just recently respooled all of my reels with brand new power pro braid. I took one of the rods out today and on the second cast broke midway through the cast right after it left the line guide on my reel. And backlashed the worst I have ever had. I don't know what could have caused it to just up and break like it did. I've used braid for years now and never experienced anything like this. I spooled it up correctly, and everything. Guides on my rod are not chipped or cracked, and the line guide is the same way. The only thing is that this spool of line was brightly colored almost a neon red compared to all of the rest of the the braid which was the dark red. Could it just have been a bad spool? what do you guys think? tight lines Andrew
