  1. Hello everyone, I'm a first time boat owner and I have to buy a new trolling motor for my boat. Is it possible to buy a trolling motor with the "Spot Lock" ability without having to dump another $3 grand on an Ultrex? The company/ brand isn't that important to me... I just want to know what kind of trolling motor models are out there that can do the spot lock thing, and those that are perhaps cheaper (ie Motor Guide). I know the Ultrex does, Im pretty sure theres a "power drive 2" from minn kota does as well but that also seems top of the line... What about a Fortrex? Can a minn kota edge do spot lock? Thanks for clarifying
  2. Does anybody have any experience with skeeter boats that’s willing to give some advice? Specifically a 2014 skeeter zx21. Is there anything I should look for that these boats have issues with? This is going to be my first bass boat purchase. This boat from pictures to me looks to be very clean and only has 150 hours on the 4 stroke Yamaha 250 sho. I have them down to 34k. I’m moving from a 18ft deep v aluminum boat. Do these skeeters ride well in rough conditions? I mainly fish the Great Lakes and lake st Clair but on real windy days i can always switch it up and goto inland lakes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hey everyone, I need some help. I have a 10ft 2 man bass hunter. Its plastic. Bought it cheap. As expected, I was certain it would take in a little water. With that being said can anyone help me figure out what I can use to fill the haul with to add buoyancy? I've seen people use foam. Does anyone have success using foams to fill the haul to make sure it floats well? Please and thank you.
  4. Hello, alright so I recently just bought a 1982 skeeter fisherman boat of Craigslist for a pretty d**n good price. Only problems with it is that the Bilge pump needed to be replaced and livewell tubing. I'm having some problems with figuring out the holes in the tandem(since this is my first boat). I tried to upload a picture of the 3 holes but it wouldn't upload. The boat only has 1 livewell so I know the hole at the far left is the intake for the livewell. The middle hole is just a tube and I'm not sure where it comes from and the far right hole leads straight into the hull with no tube connections. Is that a hole I need to plug or should it be used for something? I know his is a pretty stupid question and I might sound like such a noob but this is my first boat, I'm young, and I have no experience with boats. Please help! Thank you!
  5. New to this forum. I am looking to rebuild a 12ft Polar Kraft Jon boat. It is is a flat bottom boat and I am wondering if anyone has removed the bench seats to lay down flooring and pedistal seats. I want to know if that is a difficult process and what it requires. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Hey I posted about a week ago that I was looking for a bass tournament series/league that will allow a Jon boat in it *note, it is not a little dinky one it's a 1448 with a 15hp, carpeted, electronics, trolling motor etc.* anyways, I went to classic bass and looked at tournaments in my area (St.Cloud MN) and at first found one that seemed perfect called the amateur bass series, the lakes they fished were very familiar, it seemed pretty laid back and nice. I then found out your boat must be 16' or longer I was pretty bummed out but I was still pretty determined to find one, I then found Minnbass which seemed very good, no minimum length and again seemed pretty laid back but then I saw how much it costs and for a high school kid that has to pay gas and buy gear it would neve be doable and that was the only other series that was in lakes under a hour away. moral of this post is that I wondering is there any tournament series near st.cloud that doesn't have a minimum length and also not break the bank. Thanks.
  7. Whats up guys! I am looking at this 2002 ProCraft 190 Super Pro.. I just wanted to know what the Original Price it was back in 2002. The guy is asking for $9,200, is this a good deal? It comes tournament ready and we test drove it and it ran perfectly. It also has about $750 in sonars. The boat barley looks used but the carpets are a little dirty. Nothing a good carpet cleaner could wash. Please let me know if im getting a good deal.
  8. Right now my livewell only has one pump, that just pumps in water, not sure what type the pump is. I want the livewell to have pump out, a fill pump, and an aerator. I want to be able to empty the well while out on the lake, fill it back up, and then aerate it. Problem is, I have no clue about any of this stuff. I need to know what type of pumps to get for each purpose, and how the heck to rig all this up. I also would like to be able to have something I can leave on safely overnight to keep bait alive, (maybe the aerator can do this, I don't know). Also, should the aerator have some sort of timer on it? If so what do I need to get? I have seen some people talk about bubble systems for overnight use. Please excuse my extreme lack of knowledge about this topic, this the first boat I've owned, and I'm learning. Thanks to all who reply and any help is much appreciated.
