  1. I am fishing my first tournament this weekend and will be using my Lowrance Hook 2 5X Split Shot GPS fish finder for the first time as well. I've done some research in preparation and have coordinates of certain areas of the lake that I will prioritize. I would like to save these spots as waypoints that I can then navigate to on Tournament day but my problem is as follows: The coordinates I have are in this format: 41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E My Lowrance Fishfinder seems to use this format: 41 24.2028, 2 10.4418 I checked on Google Maps and both of the coordinates above are exactly the same - they are just in two different formats. Does anyone know how to convert the first waypoint format into the other ? Please let me know if there is some type of coordinate format converter website that does this or let me know if I can provide more information here if it's not clear. Thank you so much ! Joe P.S. I called Lowrance Technical Support and they told me I can only drop a waypoint on the water but when I got off the phone with them I was playing around with my fishfinder in my home and I was able to create a waypoint for my house AND I am able to edit the coordinates and then save it. I just need to know how to convert the coordinate format I have (41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E) into the coordinate format that Lowrance seems to use (41 24.2028, 2 10.4418)
  2. What website do y'all use to track your waypoints? I work at a computer all day and look at maps all the time, but I wish I had a way to mark something if I find it.
  3. I've loved my Lowerance HDS gen 2 and it's structure scan features but I have notice a problem while marking off shore structure. I will mark fish, a brush pile, etc on my screen as I see it on side imaging or downscan and fish that exact waypoint. I've noticed after marking the waypoint especially on side imaging that when I drive over the spot that I marked previously the brush or structure is not as I saw it before. I am starting to question the accuracy of the waypoints when they are used in the structure scan feature. Does anyone know how I could fix this or having the same problem?
  4. Hey guys I just figured something out and wanted to share it. This is for the guys that don't have a lot of money invested in their electronics yet. I will one day but i'm not to that point yet. I have figured out how to get waypoints on google earth on my phone. I didn't find any other topics on this exact subject so figured I'd start one. Basically what i did was use old imagry of a lake when it was drawn way down and marked brush piles, humps, old pond banks, foundations, and road beds. On a little 1200 acre lake i have over 60 places marked. After I marked my spots on Google earth I right clicked on the folder I create for this set of waypoints, right clicked on the folder under my places and emailed it to myself. I opened the email on my phone then opened the file in google earth. I was worried about the accuracy of the GPS on my phone, but after testing it in my back yard I believe i can well within 10ft of my waypoint. It will be another week or two before i get to test it, but I can't see why it won't work. Thanks!
  5. Hi folks, I was Googling for a route through this treacherous stretch of the Potomac, but I came up short. I didn't create the following route on the water, but rather with some free mapping software. It represents roughly the way I usually run Blue Plains and Oxen Creek, but it has routes I haven't tried for Fox Ferry and the WW Bridge. Please give any input you have. The best information would be actual waypoints from your GPS/plotter, but any/all feedback would be appreciated. Route/Waypoints in CSV format. Free mapping software. NOAA Chart Downloads (for the free MD base map, scroll down to "ENCs by State," and click "MD." Thanks, Jamie
