Coming from a trout background using flies and inline spinners I've never had use for terminal loop knots. Now that I'm learning to fish for bass and crappie I do. (Admittedly there is a loop not used for dry flies but I never learned it or used it.)
Are there more than one of these loop knots? Are any of them more reliable than others?
I look forward to your replies and learning how to tie a loop knot.
Taking some of the suggestions on terminal tackle storage from the forum, I opted for a Plano Edge Thin 3700 box.
Did this take me an entire evening? Yes. Did I have to peel off, rewrite, and reposition each label so they were near perfectly straight? Yes. Did I enjoy every moment of it? Also yes.
Does anybody enjoy the preparation and organization part of fishing almost as much as the fishing itself?
I have a few questions. I am looking for suggestions on tube jigs (3/8 & 1/2) with a long shank and a 60 degree line tie. Doesnt have to be the goby-head like you see in the pic below. Would be great if I can get them on TW or anywhere online.
The reason I'm asking is becayseI'm having trouble rigging my 3.5 inch tubes. I find that the shank of the hook is too short, forcing me to pop out the line tie before the end of the tube. Is this a real problem or am I just worrying about something that doesnt really matter? By the way, I like to use berkley power tubes and I picked up some coffee tubes today if that makes any difference, Thanks.
In the whole scheme of things is tungsten really worth the extra cost? Sure tungsten is 50% smaller and you can feel cover/bottom better, but at nearly six bucks for three. Lead on the other hand; is 50% bigger and slightly less sensitive, but you can get a pack of ten for three bucks. More fish have been caught using lead weights than any other material weight combined, a tried and true material. Is tungsten really worth it? (Also keep in mind this is for people who actually purchase their own weights and not those who get them from sponsors.)
