  1. I caught my first snook today. Initially had a T rigged senko, after a couple hits but no fish switched to wacky rig. And to my surprise I caught a snook. I didn’t even know this lake had snook or connected to the ocean anywhere. I knew they could be found in brackish water but not freshwater. I was wishing I had a scale to weigh it, but I would estimate it to be about 8-10lbs. And of course immediately after releasing I found a perfectly good scale someone left behind. I’m pretty satisfied, new species for me. Never imagined I would catch my first snook in a random canal/lake. Having trouble posting pics, keeps saying file size too large and I can’t seem to make it fit
  2. I'm gonna be moving here shortly to Florida, and i've gained quite the arsonal of freshwater lures, which i'd like not to go to waste. Can i use my freshwater lures in saltwater? Will they work? If so which ones?
  3. got this beauty on a charter fishing the jetties around Stuart Fl.
  4. Hey guys, I've been wondering if anyone has had any luck fishing the Griffin Canal or the South New River Canal. I have fished there once or twice with no luck and I've heard you can catch Bass Peacocks and even maybe a snook or tarpon. Anyone have any tips on where to fish (I usually go to the Nob Hill intersection) and what baits to use? I am very interested in catching a snook in freshwater but know only of that spot and the Canal running along State Road 84 I also do enjoy catching everything else in those waters so if anyone has any info on pretty much anything in the Davie/Plantation/Cooper City I'm interested. Thanks!
  5. Ok i am TIRED of catching Pinfish! I need some lures that can catch me the gamefish! Whether it be Redfish, Snook, Seatrout, Flounder etc. Just ANYTHING that isn't a Pinfish! Please reccomend effective lures for saltwater. (I don't have a boat but this shouldn't stop me from catching good fish)
  6. Hi I fish along the Indian River in Florida and all I can catch are pinfish and the occasional flounder. I use frozen shrimp for bait with a couple sinkers. I don't have much experience saltwater fishing since I mostly go bass fishing. The only other fish besides pinfish and flounder I've caught is a Sheepshead. I really want to catch snook and redfish. Am I using the wrong bait? I did try going with a popper and a bucktail jig once but I got nothing. So I want to know how and where to catch game fish like redfish, snook, snapper, etc. Oh and also I fish near a dock since I don't have a boat.
