    Hello! I do not know how to catch river smallies consistantly, although I have some ideas, like 4 inch senkos, ned rigs, and small jerkbaits like the one I caught my first Sauger on. My PB smallie is like 0.75, and I hope to catch a bigger one soon. I caught that on a 3.8 Keitech on a Gamakatsu Alien Head jig, so is there and suggestions for lures? Thanks. My birthday is 5 days away, so if I get a gift card, I can get some smallie lures.

    anyone here have an opinion on carbon framed bait casters i am thinking about getting the Lews custom XP bait caster but then realized it has a carbon frame. I have heard bad things about carbon reels and have been told that aluminum is better what is ya'lls opinion.

    in my last post I asked about carbon vs aluminum instead of carbon I meant to ask about graphite. so do any of y'all have an opinion on graphite bait casters I was thinking about getting the Lews XP it has a one piece graphite frame. but lately I've heard that graphite bends and warps so I'm starting to reconsider. if anyone could give me their opinion on the matter it would be appreciated.

    I need help understanding how to effectively fish a jig (especially around docks)! My favorite way to fish is by fishing docks. Whether that’s skipping a senko or tossing a top water on the sides. I’ve been told that using jigs around docks are extremely deadly but don’t understand the concept. When tossing a jig under dock do you let it sink to the bottom and hop it or can you keep the jig suspended and work in the middle of the water column back to you. How do you guys fish jigs around docks? Thanks ?

    I was fishing earlier this morning with a younger angler and I hooked into this small mouth bass with a wound or growth on it but I don’t know the difference since I’m not very experienced. Just wanted to know if it’s a virus or what it might be . My dad said it could be from a bird or maybe a boat propeller but I wanted to see what others thought thanks

    This past weekend I went and bought myself a pretty nice kayak. Went the next day to try it out in a small river that runs through a city next to my town. I fish here quite regularly...and so does everyone else. I have always bank fished it and had decent luck catching some small perch and some 1/2 pound smallies. When my friend and I floated down in our kayaks, we found a couple holes where we spotted smallies in the 2-3 pound range. The only problem is that they seem so pressured and skittish that they ignore anything thrown their way. Recent pollution of this river has killed the crawfish population. The few baitfish that I have seen were kind of a smoke minnow color. I caught some smaller ones on a 3 inch ghost minnow colored jerkbait but I couldn't get the bigger ones to even think about it.The water depth is from 1-4 feet where we saw the bigger fish. Thought about just trying a fat juicy nightcrawler next time. If anybody has experience with these kinds of fish and has any tips or suggestions please feel free to share! Any and all advice is appreciated! Thank y'all and tight lines!

    knowing that fishing for smallmouth and fishing for largemoth are not exactly the same I thought it'd be cool if we could work togeather to hash out the diffrences and things to keep in mind when fishing for either of the two species.
