  1. Got my prize from Mike Siebert in the mail today. Haven't got to fish them yet, but I can't wait! These things are truly works of art. Almost too pretty to fish. I already know I'm gonna be a diehard Siebert fan now. Okeechobee craw with a sapphire head and Gamakatsu heavy wire hook A black/blue with an Owner cutting point hook A PB&J with an owner cutting point hook An Okeechobee craw with a green pumpkin head and owner cutting point hook And, my favorite, a blue craw with green pumpkin head and owner deep throat cutting point hook. That hook is MEAN. All wire tied skirts and great brush guards and paint. Thanks again, Mike!
  2. recently placed a small order (3rd or 4th order now) from Siebert and as usual, nothing but top marks.... i ordered these units on a friday afternoon (after a couple emails exchanged with Mike) and on monday morning i had a shipping confirmation with tracking number! this guy is a beast. they were all mata dredge brush series jigs (http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Mata-Dredge-Brush-052.htm) i went a little funkier than usual with some of the head and color selections, but am thrilled with how they turned out! being able to pick the color on the rubber really helps you add your own additional flavor to the already awesome color schemes available to choose from. And that copperhead or copper black or whatever it's called looks awesome! at first, i didn't think the rubber added that much more to the bulk of the skirt.... then i compared them to the regular dredge brush jigs i have and there is a noticeable difference! also, ordered a few of his tungsten sinkers and the quality is exactly what i expected from Mike, excellent. a couple of wilder color schemes for jigs, but i'm liking them. The one on the right is sporting my Tarheels color scheme so you know that guy will be DYNAMITE when I'm back up in North Carolina.... and the one on the left is a little closer to my own UNC Charlotte 49er's colors, so it should dominate on Lake Norman hopefully when i get back from NYC next week i will be able to give them a good test run and ideally report back with some slobs....
  3. So, I'm going to "expand" my lure purchasing beyond Bass Pro. I see all of ya'll talking about Siebert Outdoors and what not; what are some great websites to order good tackle from? I am going to look into Siebert Outdoors and hopefully buy a jig or two from there. I'm trying to figure out who(company wise) excels in what when it comes to spinnerbaits, jigs & cranks.
  4. Mike at Siebert Outdoors is first class! I contacted him here on the site after I visited his website, but was absolutely overwhelmed with all my options! I asked him about creating me a little assortment of jigs as I intend on really getting more comfortable with the jigs this year. I wanted a little bit of everything, different hooks, different heads, different skirts, etc. I sent him a little wish list and the price range I was trying to stay in and he was happy to help make it happen! All I had to do was sit back and wait every day for them to show up and yesterday was the day!! I got home to find the finest quality craftsmanship I’ve seen on a jig! The assortment was awesome and the detail on the work is incredible. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the products and the service Mike provided! If anyone else had that overwhelmed feeling when browsing his site I’m certain you could give him a shout and have him help you out. I absolutely cannot wait to get that bluegill swim jig in the water, that thing looks phenomenal!! Thanks Mike!
  5. Guys, Mike Siebert is cranking out some seriously nice jigs! I'm sure many of you here on BR have used the Siebert jigs before I did, but if you've not gotten around to ordering your own, this would be the week to get them, while most of the country is experiencing some kind of unseasonable weather (this is looking at you enviously southwest region/FL tip members). I was fortunate enough to receive the stocking stuffer pack that he advertised as a Christmas gift, and since then I've bought a couple more, and to say these are excellent jigs would be an understatement. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none. The color selection is quite vast and should adequately cover any forage replication you're seeking. His prices are competitive and the speed of shipping is refreshingly fast once he's got your jig(s) built. Additionally, Mike is always ready to give tips and advice on jig tips, trailer recommendations, and answers technique questions quickly, he knows his stuff. As far as a business man, Mike is a true pro. His customer support is impeccable and is always quick to get back with me on any communication I send his way. Answers are thourough and concise. Do yourself and your fishing season a favor and order some of his jigs! www.siebertoutdoors.com
