  1. Hey BR, Recently hit the lake and got into some topwater. Attached is a new Video of the day that includes thought process, baits, and all the good details! Thanks for watching! JN
  2. Looking for a little help on my home water. I fish New Orleans City Park, which has a pond and lagoon with 11 miles of shoreline. Stained water with about 1-2ft of visibility and tons of vegetation. I've been having trouble putting a pattern together lately since temps here in southeast Louisiana are finally becoming "winterish". After talking to some buddies with the Wildlife and Fisheries and a lot of research, I've learned the average depth in the park is 2.5ft, with the deepest spot being just under 7ft. With water that shallow, what should I be keying on when fishing those cold post-frontal days?
  3. I've only gotten into shallow cranking over the last few years, well seriously anyway. Something I saw from a video clip with Rick Clunn turned the light on for me & since, shallow cranking has become my top confidence bait for numbers & big bass. I have a number of baby 1-, KVD squarebills, etc. I was about to pull the trigger on a few of these Yo-Zuri 3DB shallow cranks earlier while I was window shopping on TW. These prism colors sure look good. Anybody use these much? But it also got me wondering what some of everybody's fav shallow cranks were.
  4. Recently suffered another thrashing at the "fins" of my local bass at my favorite swampy lake. I was tossing Hula Popper & various configuration of plastic frogs...I got tons of swirls, boils, and bass striking from 1-2 ft behind the lures...even when I slowed em down to a snail's pace! This lake does absorb a tremendous amount of fishing pressure...it's located behind some ritzy condo's...and from dusk till dawn and even at night somebody & their kid brother is out there pounding the water for a dream wall-mount. 2-4 ft max depth with a bevy of downed timber, snags, lily pads, stumps, snakes, cranes, and murky alga filled water... What's some solutions to this dilemma? Last time here the wind, poor knots and a shortage of spinnerbaits caused me great sorrow! NOW IT HAS BECOME QUITE...PERSONAL!! HELP!!! Thanks, Reg
  5. My local tackle shop announced via Facebook...that the Swamp Donkey frog would be in the house, but gave no specific date for it's appearance. Have any of you all heard when its suppose to hit?? I also did a little research and see where the Tackle Shop.com is taking pre-orders for them for $8.99 each and has 9 colors to choose from.. My guys are going to sell them for $10.95 plus tax....so I may pre-order a few online, contingent on some "up-to-date reviews!" Question: How many of you guys have used this frog? What has been your experience with them? The reviews I've read, 95% have been off the chart positive! I'm starting to really lose it with this frog fishing stuff...I gotta settle down! lol Thanks Guys, Reggie
  6. One of my favorite farm ponds has a very soft & muddy bottom. Would I fare better using the Carolina rig as opposed to the Texas rig? The pond is about 10 ft max. Also what worm would you toss? Thanks Reggie
  7. Hey Guys, A friend of mine who fishes's semi-professional introduced me to this lure. I ordered a couple, one in bone white & the other in a bluegill pattern. I've yet to catch a fish...but Its just my second day./outing. Are these lures superior to "Rebl Pop-R's or Yellow Magic? What is your top Top water Shallow bait...especially when you see them actively feeding or crashing shad??? I read in another bass forum that a Bass Pro met Don and he shared that his Splash It lure was nothing more than "sanded down-Rico rejects!" My friend swears by em...when the topwater bite is on. Just wanted to hear your experiences concerning this lure and anything relevant. Caught 2 bass today, one own the Booyah Pad Crasher..another on crickets...and then lost the frog to a "log fish!" Just lost a freaking SPRO yesterday...dam I'm rusty as hell! Bassing was brutal today...and after witnessing my wife haul in her 6th hand-size shell-cracker I succumbed...and we carried out about 20 slab size shellies! Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks Reggie
