  1. Hello Guys, I wonder on what Technique or lure or rig you got your PB on,Despite that I only have one spinning set up, My son and I both got it on Drop Shot robo worm worm on spinning set up. What about you?
  2. Someone i know using this fishing rig but what is circled he uses a steel leader except for the sinker he threads line back through swivel like dropshot but the sinker is tangling in the car and a lot of times the leader and sinker line tangle so i am wondering what he can do to reduce the tangles without changing anything he uses 20lb power pro
  3. So I was wondering if any of you have strange rigs that you’d like to share ? I’ve seen a jig with a senko above it like a drop shot . And I’m going to give a popper with a wacky rig dropper like a hopper dropper fly rig a try some time soon . So , Anything odd that isn’t too close a secret ?
  4. What carp bait works in the US the best? People say that boiles don't work here as they do in Europe. I tried sweet corn but it doesn't work. Also, I tried dough bait with strawberry jello and it didn't work as well. The only bait that works well is quick greats+white bread+creamed corn. If you know other carp bait and it's known to be working please share it here.
  5. For the life of me, I can't see how a swing jig results in any different action then would clamping a "split" bullet weight onto a snap. Anyone?
  6. Hey Guys, Recently started fishing soft plastic swimbaits; I have had some success on Berkley Havoc Grass Pig; I have just been rigging it weightless with EWG 3/0 hook. I picked up some YUM Houdini Shad and will probably get some Money Minnows or Lil Suzees; I am wondering how you guys fish them: Weightless? Swimbait hook weighted/non weighted? What size hook, I have seen videos where guys say 5/0 hooks...that seems a little large. Either way if you guys could give me tips on rigging and fishing them I would appreciate it. Thanks
  7. I'm going to go bass fishing, and I'm going to use live bait in a lake lewisville's marina in Fort Worth. However I'm not sure what to really use as a rig. Do I use circle hooks or a live bait hook. Should I use a bobber if so how big does it need to be for the fish not to pull it down. Any tips would be much appreciated
  8. I've been fishing with senkos a lot lately and really am loving them and my favorite rig so far is weightless Texas rig. This is about my senkos but applies to any Texas rig. When you skin hook the bait for a seedless set up, pretty much after the first bite the hook rips through and I can't get it back into the now roped bait. I might be doing something wrong but how can I make these baits last longer because a pack of senkos are decently expensive and my favorite color of anything around here is chartreuse and I have to drive an hour to buy chartreuse senkos, Thank ya'll for the help!
  9. Ive been getting skunked lately and I've been blaming it on this Florida heat. I've been using senkos, lipless cranks, t-rigs and topwater without so much as a tap. While the heat may have something to do with it, I've very recently discovered the ned rig. Why didn't I try this before? Got out and caught 3 keepers in about 1.5 hrs on my local lake! Works great for shallow and deep water and keeps very clean even without a weedguard. Just saying if you are using your normal techniques and lures and not catching its time to change it up. The ned rig will be in my tackle box from here on out. Thanks Ned!!
  10. I need a spinning setup specifically for weightless worms, wacky and t-rig mostly. What'd be the best weight line to buy for this setup? (I mostly use braid, but I'll take mono suggestions as well) Also, what'd be the best leader line weight? Also, while I'm at it, what reel would you suggest in the 50 dollar range?
  11. This is a way to fish sack style with three worms seemed a little over board for me. I used: VMC weedless whacky head flick shake 3- junebug 4.8 flick shake worms caught 11 fish all one pound except for a 2.5 I really had fun fishing this. Been fishing whacky a lot this is a good way to mix it up.
  12. I'm a big fan of carp fishing. I use different carp fishing methods and yesterday I decided to try a waggler float fishing for .....bluegill! And those guys were nailing it like crazy. I started with my hook on the bottom of the river but bluegills didn't event touch it. Then I readjusted the split shot pattern the way that would allow the bait to sink slowly, so called "fishing on the drop". That made a huge difference. Who would've thought! The bait was: quick greets+creamed corn+white bread+paprika. I just rolled it into small dough balls and put it on the hook #10 with the point exposed. It seems to be too much for bluegill but the ponds and the river banks I have access to are heavily pressured. The tackle has to be a little sophisticated if you wanna catch something.
  13. Hey all, I was wondering what you all keep in your kayak. Like, tools, random gear, and all of your fishing gear, plus your kayak and any customizations/mods you've done to it. I've kayaked before plenty of times, just never fished from one though. Have paddleboard fished though... that's an experience
  14. Hey all, I'm trying to put together a list of different ways to rig soft plastics. Pretty straightforward. I'm planning to try all these this summer, and maybe do a how-to on them. So far we've got: Texas rig Carolina rig Wacky rig Drop shot rig Neko rig Alabama rig Weightless rig Shaky head rig General jig rigging (football, swim, bladed) Ball head/underspin rig Split shot rig That's all I got so far. Let's hear some more, plus any you randomly come up with!
  15. I have never fished a dropshot rig, as I lean toward the simpler Texas rig or wacky. I know people have success with them but is there a time when I should dropshot over texas or wacky?
  16. Have any of you guys tried out the Jika rig? Ive been reading about it lately and im curious to know how its worked for everybody. If so, how have you been using it and with what supplies?
  17. Has anyone ever rigged flukes on a shaky head? or anything other than worms for that matter. what works for you, care to share?
  18. This summer I fished the wacky rig almost exclusivley and had a blast. We caught bass using 5'6" Ike the Dude Combo, 6'6" St Croix Triumph and 7' MH Vendetta. I liked using the smaller rods more so. I want to now purchase a nice rod/reel combo that is light and fun to fish with; reel less than 8.0 OZ. A nice setup to me is around $200-$250 total. I was considering the following three rods; I do like Abu Garcia and Saint Croix products, the reels I have used are Abu Garcia, Pfleuger Priesident(really like) and cheaper Lew's reel which I like but is on the heaver side. Any suggestings for a Wacky Rigging setup would be great. Abu Garcia Veritas Spinning Rod; 6'9", Medium-Light Extra Fast $79.99 St. Croix Mojo 6'8" M-Power Extra Fast $109.99 St. Croix Rage Spinning Rod, RS68MXF $149.99
  19. I watched the "how to fish a double fluke rig" video and was wondering how to actually rig it. and when fishing it do the two flukes often tangle?
  20. I do a lot of fishing in the southern New Hampshire lakes and western mass small ponds, anyone have any idea on whats best to toss out in the cooler days before the winter?
  21. Hi. I'm international student in NC. I do bank fishing. Usually, I don't have problems catching fish but for last two or three weeks I can't catch anything. Not even a single bite. Not even pan fish, bowfin, or anything else. I use junebug, watermelons /red flake lizards, smoky shad fluke, red/yellow spinnerbaits, white buzzbait. Nothing works. Same baits I used earlier with no problem. But I can see a longnose gar activity out on the pond. The water is between murky/greenish/muddy. I don't know the depth but it is not deep at all. May be up to 10 feet, which I doubt. What is the cause of the luck of biting fish? How to manage that? Thanks.
  22. I haven't fished since before I started high school (which was a long time ago). I've spent the entire summer so far researching everything about fishing from the basics of it to very detailed explanations on how to work a jig and such. When I read about different hook types, I was very intrigued by the circle hook. I'm a sport fisherman who loves catch-and-release, only twice on my young fishing trips did I take my catch home (once when I caught my first shark, the other time when my aunt wanted to eat what I caught). I watch a lot of videos that explain different fishing techniques using all sorts of tackle, but it seems circle hooks are usually saved for discussions specifically on them. I know circle hooks are the ideal choice for catch-and-release fishing, and I want to learn all the options that come with using a circle hook. What rigs will the circle hook work for? What soft bait will work for a circle hook (only thing I've ever seen anyone put on a circle hook is a worm)? Where can you use a circle hook, and where can't you? Are there times when you just can't use a circle hook and it's best to go to something else? Etc. I hope this thread will really provide a lot of information on circle hooks. Talk about ways you like to use the circle hook. Maybe you've noticed certain disadvantages to it as well as some great advantages. I'll really appreciate the information.
  23. I have a rod 6'6" action medium, 6-12lbs line and reel which can hold 10lbs line. What lbs braided line can i put on my rod for cats and carp fishing? What are the equivalents mono to braided?
  24. So I saw RoadWarrior, in the "Got 50 To Spend" thread, mention he has been jika rigging and having great success with it. Anybody have any information on this rig as well as the pro's and cons? Hopefully RW can post some insight in this, it seems like a great concept.
  25. Im brand new to the idea of fishing soft plastics, ive always been a fan of crankbaits and topwater baits.. Im interested in learnig more about fishing soft plastics... What are some of the best soft plastic baits to use for largemouth? What is the best way to rig the best soft plastic?
