  1. I just saw the Raymarine Dragonfly 4DV on sale below $130. I know this is downvision only and chirp I believe. I currently have a Humminbird Helix 5 SI GPS. The downvision on this unit isn't that great and I believe it is a computer simulation and certainly not chirp. I would put this unit right next to it and use it just for downvision and put a full screen side imaging or map on the humminbird. Does anyone have the 4DV only? I can't find many screen shots online. Is it big enough to see? Is this an old discontinued model? Is it worth the price? Any other input?
  2. Hey guys, I'm not sure how many people run a raymarine unit for bass fishing yet. And of the ones that do, I bet 50% of them are dragonfly users. So I may be shooting in the dark here. I have a raymarine a 98 series. It has a video connection for the FLIR cameras. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can directly hook up an underwater video camera to these units like people can do with the lowrance units?
  3. flipping my 8" manns worm into this thick structure I pulled this sweet bass out of the trees in 12' of water. Water temp only 54 degrees in the surface and dropping fast.

  5. 5" White Banjo Minnow with small hook, fished 6" underwater like a hurt minnow created the strike that this bass wished he didn't go for. Water temp only 58 degrees on a cloudy day, late afternoon spring bass.

  7. I was letting the wind blow me down along a big shallow area where I really didn't expect to catch anything, just passing through, but couldn't resist pounding the bank and pulling this white 3/8 oz spinner with a large chunk trailer to pass the time as I was standing up and the wind was taking me to my next "good spot". In 12" of water, no cover, late October(water temp was 59 degrees according to my Raymarine Dragonfly) this bass came out of nowhere and smashed the spinner 10' from my Big Rig kayak. He fought hard, but I had 20 pound test line and brought him in fast, with no structure to get in the way it was an easy catch. Still, I was shocked at the location of this bass. Didn't catch any other big ones all day, and it was a relatively slow fishing day- 8 bass 6 hours. This one made my day, however!

  8. Havoc Creature bait, green pumpkin, no weight fished on the surface, 3' off the bank at a drop off, with lots of structure. Mid-day 70 degees outside- water temp 72.
