  1. so... I was doing some spring cleaning...and ran across a couple Cotton Cordell wiggle O's. I don't think I 've ever used them they look very similar to the Wiggle Wart. anyone have any experience with these?
  2. What do you guys think of this rod? Is there a specific model you'd use for crankbaits? I'm still looking for a crankbait rod, and I keep going back to the Cabelas Tournament ZX; but I haven't made a decision yet. Still lots of time to decide as I'm waiting for the next big sale.
  3. Hey guys, I may get a G. Loomis E6X, if yall could give me some honest opinios/ reviews on it it would help a ton, Thanks
  4. Hey everyone, I am thinking about acquiring an AR before the election and looking for opinions on either AR mentioned above. Does anyone have either, or can share pro's & cons with either? The first, and well only thing I notice off the bat as in the difference is the barrel length is shorter on the Spike's by 1.5". I am looking to be accurate at about 250 yards, certainly I want to be dead on from 100 yards in. Any opinions is greatly appreciated! Thank you, Wdy
  5. I may be going down to Carlyle Lake in a couple weeks and I would like to know what the bass are biting on and where they are at. I know this will change by the time I get there but I want to have an idea of what I'm coming up against. I will also have access to a boat . Past experiences, comments, and opinions about Carlyle Lake are good too. Thank you.
  6. I have been buying and trying a couple different reels, like the Lew's Tournament MG and the Daiwa Tatula. To be completely honest i was not that impressed with the casting distance of the Tatula (given i was in my yard, with both reels) It seems like i could bomb a half oz. jig with half the effort with my Tournament MG on half breaks, whereas i had the Tatula on almost freespool! (2). So what i'm getting at, is I'm trying to find reels in the $100-$150 price range. My first reel, a while back was a Blackmax, it can cast really far, but it seemed very finicky and picky for me. So i have been eyeing up the SX, mostly because of the deeper capacity than a Lew's Tournament and I'm pretty sure it can cast well and far. I would just stick with tournament mg's but it seems like everyone on here thinks the regular Tourny's are much better, by looking at the specs, I can't find too much of a difference except it has a wiffle/smaller capacity spool, dual cast adjustment, looks a little different, and i think that's about it. Sorry I'm kind of rambling. Something about Abu and their reels really gets me. I constantly eye them up, but never pull the trigger. Probably half my problem is when i read reviews on Tackletour, it's like every reel but Daiwa and Shimano is bad... (except Lew's.) The quality of Lew's is great. I just want to try something else. I heard the gen. 2 SX reels were better, but I'm looking at gen. 3. So what do you guys think of the new generation SX, and think i should do? The S could possibly be an option, but i'd probably rather by an Orra SX for that matter. Thanks. I appreciate it, if you bared with me during that post, haha!
  7. .Alright so I've been trying out many different rods, but with my slight ocd it kind of bothers me that I have so many different rod and reel combos that aren't "the same." So I was wondering with your expierence and what not which of these rods seems to be the most sensitive in your opinion. Also which one you would choose and why. *** Black (I own one pretty light/great backbone) Abu Garcia Veritas (yes I know they are a little tip heavy and may have breaking problems) Denali Jadewood (I have no expierence with these) Falcon Bucoo (I know they are light and a little underpowered, but have never fished with one) St. Croix Mojo Bass (I know they are heavy and tip heavy, but have never fished with one) Thanks
  8. Alright so I'm looking at a few reels in this price range and I am wondering which one you would choose. I am aware that this is a very competitive price range, but I have a few reels in mind. They are: Abu Garcia Revo S or SX Daiwa Tatula (probably not too many have used...just came out) Lew's Tournament SS, BB-1, Tourny MG Quantum Energy, Catalyst No Shimanos (: ......Also I know there are a lot in there, I'm just wondering what would you would choose and why. Also you can recommend some others that I don't have listed. I do have some in the 120ish range too in there. Thanks
  9. Alright so I'm looking to get a cheaper fishfinder. One that is accurate with depth, structure, temperature, etc etc. I'm just looking for a fishfinder, not a chartplotter and what not. I have heard some pretty good things about Garmin fishfinders, and for the price I'm def. leaning towards it compared to Lowrance and Humminbird. What do you guys think of Garmin's and more importantly the Garmin Echo 500c. For the price ($250) it has a 5in screen, which is appealing to me, as i was looking at smaller screens in similar price by the two big manufacturers. So yeah if you could give me your opinions on Garmins and the one I'm looking at. Also you can give me some info on other fishfinders if you don't like the Garmin. Thanks
  10. I've always liked these rods, but never bought one and got a *** instead. Alright so i was wondering due to all i hear about these Veritas rods breaking. What is your experience with them and should this turn me away from getting one (7'3" mh casting.) This may sound pathetic but since im a "teenager" money is a little tight and this is 20 bucks cheaper than the ***. I have a 7'1" ***, but it is the same price at 100. So i was also wondering is the sensitivity close to the ***/better or worse, or do you think I should just spend the measly extra 20 bucks and get another ***? Thanks
  11. Alright so I have an *** in 7'1" mh casting.. I love it, sensitive and very powerful. I use it for plastics and jigs. I was wondering if the Jadewood is more sensitive than the 13, or stronger, etc etc. So please give me your opinions. I'm looking around for rods that i can stick with the line up. So if the Jadewood doesnt stack up I will continue to purchase Omens. Thank you
  12. Alright this may be a dumb question, but I don't know why this keeps happening to me. So when i catch a bass I try to get it in as quick as possible because catch and release quick and properly is what i shoot for. Though I keep having problems with some of the bass starting to shake and flail once I grab them by the lip. They seem calm at first and then they start flailing and i end up dropping them. Is there a way to stop this, or should i just grip hard when they start to do that. It just seems odd that I almost never see one of them do this when a "pro" is holding one. So if you could explain this to me, give me some tips, and what not. Thanks!
  13. Alright so I'm looking to get a reel for my spinner-bait rod. I'm assuming most everyone will say the Lew's but I just want to hear everyone's opinions. The Catalyst is $120 and the Tournament is $130. They will be in the "burner" ratios (7.0:1.). Yep, so all I'm asking is which one would you choose. Also there is a Revo S for about the same price but I'm not too interested. So yeah give me your opinions on why you would get one over the other and so forth. Also the reel will be going on a *** Black 7'1" mh. Thanks!
  14. Well, it took a Best In Show award at ICast. Have any of you guys picked up one and fished it? If so, does it have any advantages in your opinion over any other frog style bait on the market?
  15. Hey everyone, I am looking for some suggestions in spinning reels. I currently have a Shimano 2500 Sedona that has last a long time! I've caught a ton of fish on this reel, but I want a reel that is lighter and has a gear-ratio of 6:1. So, I am thinking about the Supreme MGX vs. XT to see if the $50 is worth the difference, the numbers (drag rating, weight) seem pretty close. Then, while looking around on BPS's website I stumbled upon the KVD sign. series spinning reel. So, seeing if anyone has opinions, what they like or dislike about each reel. I did search for the Supreme XT in this forum before posting this thread, and it seems this reel is really well liked. Thanks for the advice in advance, Wdy
