This past weekend my dad and I fished in an annual benefit tournament to go towards lake improvement projects on Otter Lake. The tournament was a big fish tournament with payouts going to the top 3 of each of the 5 species in the lake in two different 4 hour sessions. The weather man had predicted on and off showers throughout the day, but he was a little off as we ended up having a light rain throughout the day. Despite the rain there were plenty of people who turned out to give it their best shot. The bite was definitely on, for us at least. The morning was fast a furious, with us catching fish on almost everything we threw at them. The most productive presentation ended up being a squarebill. At one point I even caught two fish on the same cast with it, and both were even keepers which made it that much sweeter! When all was said and done, I had won the morning bass session with my dad coming in second, and he also won the northern division in the morning. The afternoon was tougher as we both missed out on the 3rd place bass by a few ounces. Overall, it was an awesome day spent on the lake with us boating at least 60 fish.
Not big but these are the two that I hauled in with one cast
The 19 1/2 incher I caught that won
