    Been out here a few times (fishing out of a modified john boat). Did pretty well the first time using a small shad swim bait fishing submerged grass in maybe 4-6 feet of water (we don't have a fish finder). Went back the next weekend and caught one dink on topwater with no bites on the swim bait. Saw a lot of kayakers going super shallow up in the creeks. Wondering if anyone has any experience here with this fishery. It seems to have some great potential but I have yet to really figure it out. Are they up super super shallow? Hiding in the grass? Or deep? Would love to hear some thoughts/opinions/advice. This is my first time posting to this forum and I'm excited to finally become a part of it after having read so much on this site.     New to fishing in nova and would love some recommendations on spots or lures. No boat right now so spots with bank fishing would be nice. Been skunked the last couple times out and just wanna get on some fish! Not even worried about size right now.. Live in the prince William area but don't mind a drive, thanks!

    I Hope this Spring has brought successful fishing trips, I wish I could say the same fomr myself. I was hoping anyone could spare some information about lakes or ponds in the Northern Virginia area preferably around prince William County. I have just relocated back to the area I do not have a boat and would like to find a fishing spot or two that are not over fishing or overpopulated. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    I have been fishing the Occoquan reservoir for over 15 years and although I seem to catch a good amount of bass I can't seem to catch anything bigger than 1.5 to 2 lbs. I fish just about every weekend and have serious interest in joining the Fountainhead bass club for the tournaments although I have no boat yet (which should be remedied by next spring). I guess what I am looking for is someone to go fishing wish from time to time to show me some tips, to learn from. Strange request, I know, but I know there are a lot of people out there who enjoy fishing as much as I do It gets frustrating not ever being able to get better at your loved hobby. So if any one needs some one to go fishing with, I am always looking to go

    Has anybody fished occoquan reservior in the last week or so? I'm heading out Saturday morning out of Fountainhead...was thinking working shallow points/coves and visbile cover not to far from the boat ramp early on w/topwater then moving to the deeper points in and around the main lake there also not too far from the ramp. I'm assuming water temps will keep fish in the 10-15ft depth when that sun gets high...but it's been super hot this past week so any insight would be helpful. Do i need to be thinking different patterns? or should i be heading up river or farther down river?
