  1. Me and a buddy of mine are fishing a charity tournament on lake mackintosh of North Carolina next Saturday until now I have never heard of the place lol. But was wondering if any of y’all have any tips about the place. Thanks !
  2. Just wanted to share a video I put together on my pitbulls first time out pond hopping. Maybe some of y'all can relate to a dog that loves the water too much to stay out of it.
  3. Triad Bass Anglers is seeking boaters to help expand our fast growing membership. ALL fishermen are welcome, but we need boaters to pair with non boaters. Please contact Micheal Belter at 336-552-4312, or email mbelter@rock.k12.nc.us. Our next event is Tuckertown Lake. Come join us on July 24th.
  4. Gents, first off I want to say this is my first ever post on a forum so here it goes. I will be down in the Havelock, NC area for training for about 11 days. I will have ample free time while down there and want to do some fishing, don't care the species just want to catch what is bighting. I am a avid LMB angler but for this trip I just want to catch fish. I will most likely be on the bank/shore with a slight possibility of a kayak on or very close to MCAS CP. Any input or ideas on locations, lures, baits or setups would be greatly appreciated. The rod/reel arsenal I am bringing will cover anything from fly fishing to a 9ft surf pole. SO with that being said HOOK me up LOL.
  5. Hello fishing peers, You can call me Regi or Jr.I go to college in Greensboro, NC.My mother stays in Riverdale,GA which is a little suburb. My dad stays in Goose Creek, SC.I am also from Gainesville, FL. I spend my time kind of split between these areas, especially the city areas. My dad was military so I've got to fish some good areas in the south. He started me fishing at the age of 2 and recently turned 21.I'm on my own now so I am still learning.I joined this site to soak up and learn knowledge/tips from you guys! I was wondering do guys in any of these locations know of fishing spots in these areas or around them.In GA,I've found a couple of spots in Fayette,Clayton, and Henry county since those areas are as far as I usually go.Atlanta has been hard for me to find spots since staying with my mom during college breaks in a city.In SC, I tend to mostly be in Goose Creek,Charleston,Walterboro area because of family. In NC, I've fished the Greensboro,Burlington,Fayetteville, and Jacksonville areas.Burlington I have had a lot of success. In FL,I know a lot of places in Gainesville,Williston,Chiefland,Bronson,Jacksonville.I mostly be in Gainesville or Williston in Florida due to family also.Fishing is a real passion of mine, hopefully I can share information and locations with you guys and vice versa. I apologize for this long post and I will try to learn the ins and outs of the forum.
  6. I am making a move in the next 4 months from Central PA to the Raleigh-Durham, NC area because my love of bass fishing has turned into an ever-growing passion and a huge part of my life. I know after reading that last sentence some already think I am in pursuit of a professional bass fishing career.. and although its a dream for most of us, that is NOT my goal. My goals for this move is to be in a warmer area more conducive for bass fishing, network with other anglers, learn as much as I can about how to successfully catch em', and fish local tourneys (at least to start). To get a feel of what level of angler I am, I would consider myself at an moderate to advanced skill level and fished only a couple club tournaments so far up in PA. I planned on fishing every local tournament this year with my current club, but.. well.. I'm hoping to get my 2015 deposit back! I wanted to throw a post up because I am looking for some help on what to expect, good local bass clubs, resources, or anything else to help me out before getting on the water. I've done some research about the surrounding lakes and its awesome to see all the water within a 30 minutes' drive. As you may know, in Central PA, (other than the Susquehanna River) it takes hours to get to a waterway the size of Falls or Jordan. Other than the 3 obvious Falls, Jordan, and Harris, I saw others such as Randleman and John H. Kerr around an hour's drive away. So any other recommendations on preferred waterways in the area would be a huge help. And just for more specifics, I'll be living in Durham and will be hauling along my 14' aluminum Tracker with a 15hp prop and 55lb thrust electric. So when it comes to lakes, it would be nice to know which waterways or areas where it could be unsafe to run my little rig. Not that I can't handle some turbulence, I just don't want to get myself into a bad situation if I can help it. All in all, I'm just looking to enjoy this experience and do some serious bass fishing while learning all I can. So any help would be much appreciated!
  7. The water I frequent has shot up from mid-40s to mid-60s and pushing on towards 70 in a matter of 2-3 weeks. My pre-spawn planned patterns would shot when I noticed this water temp and the only thing I got bit by was a 3lb bowfin.
  8. Hello, my name is Tom and I live in Greensboro, NC. I'm interested in finding a fishing buddy, boater or non-boater in a 10-20 mile radius of the Triad. If you have a boat I'm willing to pay half on gas and the launch fee. If you don't have a boat then we can share a rental, or do bank/pier fishing. I don't like fishing by myself. I've fished in many of the local lakes here around Greensboro. I've also fished Jordan Lake, Falls Lake, and Gaston Lake. I was part of a bass club when I fished Gaston Lake, and went out with a friend on his boat. The weather wasn't right on that day, so we didn't catch anything. I still had fun though. I want to fish on Randleman Lake someday soon. So give me a call or email me here. 336-543-4134
  9. Greetings everyone! My name is Mitchell Frazier. I just joined Bass Resource, although I've been reading forums on here for the past couple years. I've been fishing my whole life, but fell in love with bass fishing over the course if the past 5 years. I hope I can learn from everyone on here, as well as be able to share some of my own knowledge. Other than that, I'm looking it begging co-angling in tournaments in NC here very soon. Tight lines and God bless to all!
  10. Hello, I'm Tom. I'm getting back into bass fishing after years of saying I'm goin to do it! I'm looking for a fishin buddy in the Triad area of NC. That's Greensboro/Winston Salem Area. I do mostly pier and bank fishing, or rent a boat at the marina. In 2009, I fished Gaston Lake with a boater friend. I've fished Jordan Lake from the bank (didn't catch anything, but it was fun). I've also fished Falls Lake, and here local.. I've fished Higgins, Townsend Lakes. Get up with me, if you are fishing alone and want a little company.
  11. I'm new to kayak bassin and the Gastonia, NC area. I want to hit the water tomorrow morning but don't know many places. Any recommendations for some good spots to kayak fish? Don't really want to hit the bigger lakes (Wylie, Norman) alone--I just got into kayak fishing and want to get more comfortable first.
  12. Hello, My name is Tom, and I'm looking for a fishing buddy. I don't have a boat, so if you do that would be great! If you don't have a boat, then please contact me anyway. I just don't like to fish alone. Thanks!
  13. Check out this video if this fatty I caught before the spawn. She was on a dock in 3 ft of water. I missed her the first time but she came right back for it after I got it back in there. 3lb. 9oz. Nothing but belly!
