  1. howdy yall! I was talking with a guy I work with about a mold I cut on my CNC mill at work. The mold was a tail for a swim bait he is working on, it turned out great! so I was wondering why not just print one on my 3D printer! I did a few quick designs and printed them out. It works GREAT!! you can go from design to water in a day! I have attached a few pics, the aluminum tail mold and then one of a jig body (black mold) and the other (white mold) is a tail i am going to use on a crank bait I'm working on. Let me know what yall think!
  2. I am looking into doing some molding for the jigs and weights I use the most, mainly tube jigs and drop shot weights. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other companies that sold these kind of molds. I already have the do it molds drop shot mold so i don't need one of those, but the tube jig molds are expensive and they don't seem to have much with the sizing I would like (assortment from at least 1/16 to 1/2 oz). Anybody know of anything? Also, was thinking I could get the teardrop jig mold (#3287) instead, since it goes down to 1/16. Would those be able to be used as tube jigs without hurting any action? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
  3. I am trying to find a Bobby Garland Baby Shad mold. Do you know of any company that will make it. I don't think there is a patent on the bait and other companies have copied it. I know how much bait making costs so you don't have to warn me.
  4. Has anyone ever had a bag of Powerbait worms get white mold all over the worms and inside? Was just checking my bags of ribbon tail worms, the zoom worms are fine, but the Powerbait is moldy, as described. Curious. Yes, I've used at least 2 or 3 of the package. Don't think its gotten wet. If it did, all the Zoom bags did as well, but no mold there.
  5. I am have started making my own custom jigs, (I have some really nice patterns) but I'm looking to get a fairly cheap jig mold. I don't need one with 20 slots. I have been looking at the ones sold at BPS, but I'm wondering if I might find one cheaper. Also, what would you guys bet there is more of a market for in terms of jig head style. I figured Arkie heads and football heads would be the most popular but I am eager for your opinion. I wouldn't mind any info on small lead melting pots and where I might find them. (I have been swimming through Ebay and have also read reviews for the Palmer hot pot 2.)
  6. Does the Trokar football jig mold only take Trokar hooks? Or will the mold accept other ones? Like Mustad?
  7. I have been reading and trying to understand how to make my own plastic baits. I want to do this so that I can eventually "match the hatch" and also save money by making them in bulk for a cheaper price. After doing research I decided to order the starter kit through www.lurecraft.com. I'm looking for any tips or tricks in order to make this successful. I have never done this before, yet I am very excited to get started. Thanks for any advice in advance!
  8. Does anyone els have a problem with mold in their rod lockers? I put some moisture absorbing containers in each locker but still have a mold problem. I never put anything away wet. I just don't get it! I do have one locker that always seems to have a wet spot in the corner but I have the mold problem with all of my lockers. Very frustrating! Any suggestions?
