  1. This post is a result of my indecision that lead to stressful overthinking. When I ask the following question, consider these factors: I fish one of the shallow finger lakes with lots of vegetation mainly eurasian milfoil, the best places to flip are in the milfoil and under boat docks, the water is ultra clear in the morning and throughout the day progressively gets greener (a light stain caused by gloeotrichia rising from bottom), flipping baits that I’ve used and had moderate success with: D-Bomb, Baby D-Bomb, Pit Boss, Bronco Bug, Sweet Beaver. I like one that has little to no action and glides like a traditional beaver, as well as one that has some more action to it but has less action than a craw style bait. The question: not including craws and tubes; if you could only choose 2 different beaver style baits each in 3 different colors to cover all the conditions listed above, what would you choose? And why?
  2. Greetings All. A couple of quick ones on fishing the foil in summer.. For tournaments on our northern grass lakes, if you've decided to target milfoil what percentage of the time are you typically spending working the edges vs. up inside the bed probing sweet spots that you've pre-located? Are there any good rules of thumb (weather factors?) which tell you when you want to focus on the edges vs. inside? I've heard many times that hard bottom spots buried up underneath the foil can be the sweetest of the sweet spots. Aside from getting out and imaging in the early spring, are there any good techniques for finding hard bottom areas in foil beds once the weeds are up? Thanks! -- Rick
  3. I was recently fishing in a river near by my place of residence, and I could not believe the amount of weeds. I was fishing from my kayak, so I was right on the water, and I've never seen weeds so thick. Looked like milfoil to me... Anyway, fish live in weeds, but I could'nt see how it was possible for my lure to get in there, let alone a bass large enough to be worth catching. So, am I correct? The fish are in there just work the edge, or is it possible that the weeds are just to thick?
  4. Any one have any tips for fishing Lake Guntersville during the warm summer months? I was thinking crankbaits, carolina rigs, and football jigs around deep structure. But what about fishing weedlines?
