  1. I just got this rod and it is very intriguing. I have a P5 BMG and NRX+ 904C. I was trying to decide which one to keep and then I got the Tequila Baccarrac. I know it is labeled a XH, but it casts a 3/4 jig further than either of those rods and seems to be close in sensitivity. I have a small 15 ft Gheenoe (actually a Riverhawk) and space is a premium. If I can keep one heavier rod on the boat to throw heavier jigs, frogs, heavier top waters and swim baits up to 3 ounces, it seems like the wise choice. Am I crazy?
  2. I have owned a Megabass Ronin, their spinning rod designed for jerk baits. I prefer a little longer rod since I throw various light finesse stuff on it. I throw regular Vision 110’s on an Expride 6’10 M, but I prefer to throw the 110 jr’s on a spinning rod. Which Destroyer spinning rod would you recommend?
  3. Hi all, I have a few Megabass rods id like to sell. I recently relocated and these have been sitting in my office untouched for months. They are too nice to go unused so I’d like to find them a new home where they will be better utilized. I’m listing their condition below. PM if you would like pictures, I’ll be happy to send them. Price is for the rod, buyer pays shipping. Feel free to make offers. Thanks for looking! USA Destroyer Otomat - $300 (Used less than 5 times) Orochi XX Braillist - SOLD Orochi X4 Destruction - $200 (Is an older rod and shows signs of use)
  4. Hello, I was simply curious about the specific differences between these two P5 rods. I'm trying to decide between the two as my jig and Texas-rigged soft plastics. For anyone who has it, what would you say is the ACTUAL lure weight range in which each of these rods excels (if you could please say the total weight, i.e., jig + trailer, etc...). I am also planning to purchase a P5 Bait Finesse and a P5 Windbuster, so the baits that this can cover may also have to be taken into account. I plan on using the BF for all around finesse plastics and finesse jigs, the WB for drop-shot/free rig/small jerks and small cranks/light topwater, and the TS or X-Bites for jigs/Texas-rig soft plastics. I will say that I plan on fishing cover, shallow water, docks (skipping*** and pitching***). Lastly, I do everything other than punching, throwing large swimbaits or glide baits, and heavy top-water (mainly finesse plastics, fb/compact/finesse jigs and other bottom-contact like drop-shot and T-rig). Will these 3 rods cover all those techniques? Thank you in advance, I apologize for asking so many questions. I tried to be as concise as possible, but I have been looking for answers to these questions without much success.
  5. Hello, I just had some questions about these two P5 rods. For anyone who has either of them, what would you say is the ACTUAL lure weight range in which each of these rods excels (if you could please say the total weight, i.e., bait + hook/weight). I plan on using the BF for all around finesse plastics and finesse jigs, and the WB for drop-shot/free rig/small jerks and small cranks/light topwater. Lastly, I do everything other than punching, throwing large swimbaits or glide baits, and heavy top-water (mainly finesse plastics, fb/compact/finesse jigs and other bottom-contact like drop-shot and T-rig). Will these 2 rods, plus a Tachyon Shaft cover all those techniques? Thank you in advance. I appreciate any and all of your information.
  6. I am looking for Megabass Magdraft 6" or 8" or Imakatsu stealth swimmer swimbaits.
  7. Hi guys, so with the black Friday coming, I was looking to buy a new combo for punching/flipping. For the rod, I was looking at the megabass levante Aklys rod or the daiwa tatula heavy flipping rod, do you have any insight on any of them? As for the reel, I tried the tatula line last summer and I loved it, so the tatula elite p/f seemed like a good option. What do you think? Do you have other recommendations? Much appreciated.
  8. Wondering what everyone has for Megabass Levante or Orochi spinning rods. I plan to throw finesse swimbaits (2.8" swimbait with 1/4oz jighead), tubes (1/4oz) and hair jigs (1/4 oz). Let me know what is out there. Thanks.
  9. Anybody tried these beauties? Picked one up on accident and it was likely the best thing that’s ever happened to my tackle box. Curious if someone’s further down the road than I and has some tricks or tips. I can tell it’s chock full of potential.
  10. I fished the 6 inch Magdraft (pre-rigged version with the magnet) this weekend. Looks awesome on Chris Zaldain's videos and my buddies at the tackle shop rave about it. For me, about every third cast it wouldn't swim straight. Naturally, it is on the times you make that pinpoint cast. The magnet isn't doesn't hold it in the center all the time. I was constantly haven't to fiddle with it. Anyone else have this experience? Should I just switch to the Freestyle version and rig it with a Flashy Swimmer.
  11. Hey guys what reel would you guys pair with either A. P5 Super Destroyer or B. P5 MadBull and why? Thanks in advance.
  12. Does anyone have a strong opinion (or experience with) the Megabass Destroyer Otomat serving as a cranking rod?
  13. Found the motherload of older megabass all dates 2001/2002
  14. I’m torn between buying the Daemos or the FMJ. I will be paring it’s with Metanium DC (30 lb braid to flouro). I view this is the next rig up from my finesse rig (Aldebaran on NRX 852c JWR). I see myself doing a lot of jigging with 1/8-1/2 oz heads with additional trailer weight (so call it total 3/16-3/4 oz total). Not going to be for punching pads or wrestling with heavy structure, but subsurface grass will be in play. Megabass describes the Daemos as “Medium” - but is it really more “Medium Heavy”?
  15. Hey guys, I have a 2019 Levante Jerkbait Special on warranty repair. Looks like i won't see it until January MAYBE. Megabass is offering me to jump up to the Orochi XX Jerkbait Speical for $50. Should i do it?? I have used this rod for more topwater than jerkbaits but extra sensitivity and better guides is intriguing. I do love that new Levante though... Paired it with a JDM Scorpion MGL so the Levante looks amazing with it. The orochi won't match as well, but I should get over that.... Should i do it or wait? The full grip adds some weight I'd assume but looking for recommendations. Thanks!!
  16. I’m considering buying Megabass Levante on perfect pitch paired with Shimano Curado 200K for jigging/small frogging/flipping, but do you think the rod is too light for flipping/small frogging? I’m considering spooling up with 50lb braid.
  17. So, I've been getting into fishing big swimbaits for the biggest bass in the lake, and I've been somewhat successful so far. I've caught A handful of nice fish from 5-7lbs on various glide baits so far. I have 8 inch hudds, I have a 9 inch slammer, I have lunker punkers, bull shads, a triple trout, Deps 250, Gantarel (none of which I've caught a fish on yet) and some of the other more popular big swimbaits on the market, and I'm looking to add the next glide bait to the lineup. My favorite big swimbaits so far are glide baits and multi jointed hard baits, so if anyone has any suggestions in those two categories, feel free to share, but for those of you who have tried them, which would be the better buy between the Roman Made Negotiator, and the Megabass I-Slide 262? I've been eyeing both for awhile, but I want to hear from guys who have actually fished these lures before pulling the trigger on another $100+ glide. Is the negotiator worth the extra money over the I-slide? Also, if anyone has tried the ABT suicide glide, how does it compare to the Megabass?
  18. Hello All, I am looking to get a high end all purpose casting rod. I have my options limited down to 3. St Croix Legend Elite G Rods Pro Bass Doblyns champion extreme HP. I will be getting a 7ft Medium Heavy, Fast action rod. If it helps, I have a Abu Garcia Revo Premier Gen 4. I appreciate it. Tight Lines Patrick
  19. I’ve been in the market for a jerkbait rod and I’m wanting either the Orochi xx jerkbait special or flat side special and it seems every place has sold out. Anybody know where I can pick one up?
  20. I am looking at getting a CASTING rod and reel for light baits. I want something like a medium power, fast\extra fast action. Like i said it's for light baits like finesse jigs, weightless flukes, and weightless or SLIGHTLY weighted sencos. I REALLY like the looks of the Megabass Levante series rods. The only problem is that they don't have a rod that exactly fits the bill for what I'm looking for... The "Extreme Mission Type F" seems like it would maybe work, but I wanted to hear some input from you guys. What do you think? will the Extreme Mission Type F be what i'm looking for? or is there another model in the Levante line that would work? Or should I look at other options... Thanks for your help as always!!
  21. Hi, I just purchased a whole ton of 110s and to my surprise I think they might be fake. So I was hoping maybe someone here can chime in and verify if in fact they are or they aren't. The reasons are the following, on some only the middle hook is missing the barbs and they also come with no nose split ring, also it seems they got hook rash while in the box which leads me to think the finish is fake? besides that everything else seems to be ok. The colors are lively they seem identical since I got some dupes, and they all have the ITO vision 110 signature, though one seems to be peeling off. So any help is appreciated, thanks. Anyone wondering where I got them, it was at ebay, and they are the ones that have the price tag in bright orange or white, old old school type of price tag, looks like a sticker.
  22. This year is the year of the swimbait for me. Was placing an order for them just now and realized I don't really like the color choices. I'll be fishing in the Midwest and mostly smaller ponds (5/7 days a week) and a few larger lakes (1-2/7 days). Thinking the bass color and something shad-like, such as Ayu or Black Silver shad. What do you guys have and like?
  23. I understand majority of this is more preference than anything, but I'm stuck and looking for some guidance. I'm looking to pick up a new football Jig/big worm rod, tossing mainly 1/2oz and occasionally higher. I'll be pairing it with a Chronarch mgl and most likely 20# Sunline. Naturally I'm looking for something lightweight with great sensitivity, but a well balanced rod is most important to me (have had too many tip heavy rods). I've read many reviews and done so much research I feel I'm going mad. Budget isn't all that much of a concern as I know a lot of times you get what you pay for, but I'm not trying to break the bank unless it truly TRULY is worth it (I feel most comfortable spending between $200~$300). Here I have a list of what I keep getting hung up on.. 1. G Loomis - GLX 894C JWR 2. Dobyns Champ Extrm HP - 7'8" Hvy Mike Long Jig 3. Megabass - Orochi XX - 7'5" MH EMTF 4. G Loomis - E6X 894C JWR What I'm wondering is, are some of the higher dollar rods really worth their price and not just hype? As I stated before, I understand majority of this is more personal preference than anything. I'm just hoping enough members on here have had some sort of experience. I'm open to recommendations as well.
  24. I have a vision 110 and I am having problems with the "Multi-Way Moving Balancer System". One of the tungsten balls has gotten stuck in the back of the lure. Any ideas of how to get it to roll freely like it is supposed to? Thanks!
  25. Narrowed it down to the new Dobyns DX 745C HP, or the Megabass Perfect Pitch. I have read good things about both the previous DX 745C and the Perfect Pitch (hoping new DX line will perform the same.) The only thing I did not see a lot of comment on, is how well the Perfect Pitch can cast jigs. Max jig will be 3/8 oz + trailer. Both handle hollow bodied frogs well from what I have read. Right now it is a toss up between the two and thought I would ask any users who may have used either or both of these rods their opinions, just to gather more info from experienced users before I made a decision either way. Thanks
