I caught my first stripped bass 2 weeks ago 33” and I’m hooked. I was out by Montauk close to governors island. My uncle took me to a sand bar where the edge of the water on the Bar was Bubbling and there was a decent size drop of to the terrain under water and there they were so many on the fish finder. And I caught my fish with a piece of clam within 2 minutes.
now I live by the Jones inlet I’m fishing by point lookout and tried to copy what he had done. And I couldn’t get anything but Robins. I was out at magic hour when the sun was coming up. I don’t have a good fish finder just a single pulse but I can see schools of something underneath.
I guess what I’m asking is my uncle seemed to know exactly what location to get a stripper how do I pick my location? Please help I’m obsessed with finding another one and anything I find online is how to setup a rig
I’m new here and wasn’t sure where to post this thread. Admin Please move it for me if you can (But let me know where lol)
Hello all! I have been bass fishing for a couple years now and I know water temperature is vital to finding bass. So I just want to know, when people are talking about water temps are the referring to the surface temp?
Hey guys, my family owns a cottage on a small lake. The dam on the lake broke during hurricane sandy, but now that it is filled in again with a new dam, I'd like to put some cover in to help promote fish growth and spawning success and so on... you get it. I know that the time to do it would have been when it was high and dry, but I couldn't find a time to do it. I'm Thinking of making some concrete and PVC "xmas trees" and sinking them in various places, but I'd like some input as to where those places should be. Also, I've thought about putting down some sort of pea gravel in places... would this make a good spawning spot? Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks!
I've included two pictures below.. one of the lake with no water and one with it full, although the name is blanked out... for obvious reasons
Hello,
Will be visiting Fort Myers this month, fishing from shore what places would you recommend and are open to public? Places that are kid friendly are a plus, I will also fish alone as well. Any help would be appreciated!
Jason
We are taking our Bass Boat and going to Douglas lake on vacation for a week from June 20-28 this year staying at Anchor Campgrounds. We have never fished Douglas Lake before. We will be fishing for Bass primarily.
Can you give us any ideas of what crank baits, swim baits, colors, etc. to have with us for this trip?
Also since our fish finders are older any locations to concentrate on would be great.
From what I have read so far we are coming in a little late in the year for this lake and we will have to go deep for the bass. Do you agree?
I've been fishing for a while now, and I have been exposed to a big amount of techniques that I feel confident in now. We went out on the water today, and I felt prepared to face whatever situation, but we had no luck today whatsoever. I've made the conclusion that we have just no idea where to go, and that if we could figure out where and when to fish a spot, we'd be great. I've done lots of research about what to look for. I'm in dire need of help to find the right location, because anything that we have been doing has not been producing. Thanks
Does anyone know anything about carp fishing seasons on the East Coast? When is prespawn, spawning period, post spawning, best fishing time of the year. I had three fishing trips to a local ponds, seen carp jumping but didn't get it to bite. Any suggestions? I used dough ball with strawberry jello, sweet potato, bread. Nothing worked so far. May be it's still to cold?
Thanks.
Hey guys me and my cousin are taking his new boat out on lake Varner in Covington Georgia. Anybody ever fished here? We could use some tips on what to use and where to go, thanks
This is a forum on bass behavoir right now: are they bedded or cruisin the shallows, are they agressive or suspended on ledges, etc...
I'm in illinois and i've had a little luck on ledes and points due to the fluctuating weather we've been having, but, given that said weather is stabilizing, my luck is going to schtako. So, tell us where you are, whats lures have been workin, the bass' behavoir, and where the hell you've been findin 'em!!!
