  1. Hey guys, I know for a fact, there is few 7lb plus large mouth (was caught by couple anglers) is in Hansen Dam lake park, very clear water small park lake with lots of limited hot spots(docks and brushes are off limit). I am visiting daily there for few hours and so far no success, just cached few 1 or 2lb. let me know if you are intrested to join for hunting this BEASTs.
  2. Hello and thank you in advance for the help, I always seem to get it here. I want to learn to fish from the bank more. I did have a jon boat and was getting off the bank, but that is no longer an option. So until I buy a kayak I am stranded on land. So I was wondering how I can fish deeper from the shore, I see people cast to the middle of the pond / lake, and I have never seen success in that. I have always seen bass a shallow water fish even though I know that is not the case. I have been fishing large ponds small lakes, whatever you might call it. I fish the banks for hours with every bait I have and there is little to no luck, So how should I go about fishing deeper and just chucking a lure into the middle. I think it will be hard to do that without having any clue what is on the bottom.
  3. So I've been fishing for a while now and just recently started getting into some lunkers. Today I made a mistake I feel horrible about. I was going to weigh my fish, and had it clamped in the lower lip and held it in the water while I looked for my scale in my very disorganized bag. While I was looking the fish thrashed violently and shook loose of my grasp. I caught him in some thick lilipads so he struggled to get away immediately but he was also near impossible to grab with bare hands. He eventually jumped out of the pads and I'm assuming swam away, it was past sunset so I could hardly see. Will it eventually be able to break free of the clamp? It's a plastic rapala clamp, pretty lightweight.
  4. I wanted to make this post to discuss Bull Shoals Lake fishing. I fish all the local tournaments which are mostly at night. The fishing here is completely different than any other lake I've been on. Anybody have any experience on this lake? I can catch 2-5 lbers but getting that 5+ has been a challenge. I know they are out there! Any advice would be great.
  5. I currently go to school in Boston and trying to find a small pond or something I can bass fish from the shore. I don't have too much time left in school but the weather has been pretty great lately so I thought I'd give it a shot around here. Any help is appreciated!
  6. Has anyone been catching anything on Norris Lake in East Tennessee? I've searched local forums and fishing reports but I haven't had any luck.

  15. Ione, Calif. -- A new record for large mouth bass caught at Lake Camanche was set on Jan. 26, when Lonnie Owens Sr. of Galt landed a 15.2-pound lunker in the main body of the lake, while using a swimbait toad thrasher lure. The fish was 28" long and 25" in girth. After landing the bass, Owens released it back into the lake. Twenty-two of the 25 biggest large mouth bass (LMB) ever caught were taken in California, reports fishingnetwork.net. The largest LMB ever landed was a 22 lb., 4 oz. monster caught in 1932 at Montgomery Lake, Ga. California’s record is a 22.5 lb. fish caught in 1991 at Castaic Lake in Southern California. The previous Lake Camanche record was 15 pounds for a fish caught in the winter of 2010.

  18. Weighing in a 9lbs, I caught this beauty in almost exactly the same spot as the 3lbs from yesterday. You can see her belly poking out full of eggs. Yet again, caught on my trusty $1 walmart special lime green buzz bait. 8PM, again, the same time yesterday. Very nice fish indeed.
  19. what did you catch this weekend?
